that's interesting
I've thought about what brisbane-artist said about the war part of the movie and now I do remember sitting there thinking, oh no, not another epic battle scene!

I was disappointed with the movie...
I think the main thing that disappointed me was that I could not connect with any of the kids in the story - I'm not sure if it was the actors themselves or the characters they portrayed.

I liked the beavers

I was a little disturbed by the representation of war to children though.

There are at least two aspects of the movie worth talking about

the story line (disturbing)

and the visuals and the visual effects as well as the actual technical animation  (it was superb)

I would reccommend seeing it bit would never  teach it to kids as a text myself

Interested to read what others think!

I am looking forward to seeing the movie.  I loved the books.  I was going to see it today, unfortunately I woke up with a terrible cough.  I don't think the other people would approve of me hacking away during the movie.

thank you, I'll get the books
...they sound wonderful!  I liked Mr. Tumnus and Lucy a lot and I also really liked the Mr. and Mrs. Beaver characters.  The mermaids at the end were gorgeous and I also liked the huge flying eagles.

Nanaroo, I loved it too!

Let's see, fav charactors.  Hmmmm, hard one.  Well, I would have to say that Mr. Tumnus and Lucy were my two favs.  I loved Aslan, but actually prefer my own picture of him (in my head) from the book.  He's more grand and mysterious in my head than in the movie.  Hard one to portray.

Have you read the series?  I would HIGHLY recommend that as a next step! I so badly tattered all the books from years of re-reading, that a few years ago I went out and bought a replacement set.  The books are just THAT GOOD!

Nanaroo, I haven't seen that but I surely did enjoy Pride and Prejudice.   Have a Happy New Year.
