Nobel Prize winner - Dorris Lessing

I love Dorris Lessing. I discovered Lessing in my late teens, as a student in Calcutta, India. I was mesmerized by her writing - her frankness, descriptions, boldness and courage. An evening of ghazals

Last evening I sat under the stars, listening to my favorite music. It was the centenary celebration of Begum Akhtar, one of the finest ghazal singers in India. She was born in the early 1900s and died in the mid 70s. Ghazals are musical renditions of shairi, or poetry. It is poetry devoted to love... Sign in to see full entry.

Mutton Curry - A Cooking Experiment

On October 1 it was my wedding anniversary. It was the day Mahesh and I got married at the Indian embassy in Rome, in 1990.
