Why I believe we don't need Miracles
In the previous comments, Naut left a link to a post and discussion about miracles which I heartily recommend to anyone who may have missed it originally, in July of 2006. The post itself is quite interesting, and the discussion in the comments is well worth a perusal, too! Just because something seems impossible doesn't mean it is impossible. I define 'miracle' as an event that can only be accomplished by divine intervention... A 'miracle' is a proof of the existence and interest of God. For...

Dark Moon's prize for being the first clicker of the next 1000 in this blog
Dark Moon suggested a photo of the ocean, to be shared with all of Blogit... Not sure what the coastline is, but it's somewhere in Asia, on the way home from Singapore to Seattle

One more click... Whose is it going to be?
The next click will be the 4000th viewing of this blog... The very first post I ever posted on Blogit was the first item of this blog. It is the one I maintained, when I cut down to one only... It is the one I consider the most significant, the one in which I share what is most important, in my own estimation. There have been some great discussions on some of the posts, and others that never got a comment or a click... I have met quite a few of you here, that I consider soul-relatives, even...

That thing aboutNASA and the Bible... I did a little research...
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/j/joshuaday.htm Quantum physics really is bringing about a reconciliation between science and truths long recognized by spirituality, in some fascinating areas, which is very gratifying to those of us who try to perceive the Universe intuitively rather than scientifically. Scientific rules of exploration are finally able to show how certain spiritual truths can be true without relying on magic or miracle. That is the real breakthrough!

Reconciling God With Science: part one: Evolution in Eden:
This post is a return in this blog being more directly about spirituality and religion. While other things I've placed here over the past months rather pushed the edge of the title, now I will be posting those more personal items in other blogs. Believing in humankind's evolution need not deprive anyone of the lessons of the Eden origin stories. It is possible to reconcile the mythic/religious tale with the scientific realities of natural selection. Here is a retelling of the Garden of Eden...

Now I've done it...
Okay, it's back to the gold account... 5 blogs to more neatly (or at least less chaotically) subdivide my thoughts, rants, travels, and now, writers' workshop/playground. That's 4... still deciding what #5 will be. Journal? Poetry? I recommend the new one to all of you who write for fun and/or money, who want to challenge your word-skills. It is for poets and story-tellers, philosophers, and... well, what kind of writer are you? I am hoping that it will flourish and bear fruit, and that someday,...

Kafuffle over roses... And about those Listings...
It has been a long time since I cared about rankings, so this issue over determining "best bloggers' or whatever it is goes right past me. 15 letters is hardly onerous--but then, I have never been bothered by comments that were clearly not thoughtful or any kind of indication the person had actually read my piece. I don't have to thank them--though if Teddy leaves me a rose, I know it is sincere because I have been here long enough to know it's his way. Likewise several other folk prone to happy...

When life gives us lemons, there is a hell of a lot more we can make
with them, than lemonade! Taken alone, they are all sourness; with sugar and water, they are a bit insipid; on chicken or fish, over spinach, in a nice Greek avgolemono soup, lemons are delicious! In pure water, they are healing; in a fruit bowl they are bright and lovely... We've got lemons, people! Celebrate!

Would you like mungongo nuts with that?
The world is becoming culturally homogenized in many ways--and much of what was once distinctive about any given culture is being blurred by the lights of McDs and Coke and all the global corporations that have followed in their footprints. I agree that everyone on the planet should have access to the tools to succeed in a global economy and political/social one-world. But I believe that the push to that goal needs to be counter-balanced with a drive to preserve some of the distinctions and...

Arthur C Clarke died yesterday.
When I was in college, freshman year, I was already known for being a bit... odd. I read science fiction, for one thing. Another freshman who, for reasons surpassing understanding, had signed up for a sci fi literature class, just really didn't get sci fi at all, and when it came to the last book of the class, she begged me to read it and tell her what the heck it was about! She needed to know by the next day, because a paper was due, and she simply could not afford to flunk it. So I read...
