My Universe

I have been asked what I believe in... I believe in a complex Reality. It is not a Universe, or Multiverse that can be described in simple, linear notions. I believe in God, but not a God as much like Man as the God of Western Culture is taken for. I believe in Good and Evil, in Light and Darkness, but neither without shadings of twilight, of mixture and inclusivity. I believe in Absolutes and also in Qualifiers and Conditionals: that there are spectrums and continuums of which we as humans... Sign in to see full entry.

I believe in a limitless God.

This is why I don't use He or She as God pronouns, because either one limits what God can be, and attaches our personal emotional baggage to either gender-concept. In fact, I have always believed in some kind of Supreme Divinity, though my ideas of what that is have changed over the course of my life. I left the traditional definitions and assumptions behind long ago, as I realized that they were limiting and sometimes contradictory, and often based on the mindsets of cultures long gone, from... summarizing CPTSD

This is related to my just-previous post on this blog. I've often posted about Complex PTSD, and recommended Pete Walker's site which offers quite a lot of information about it. This one is simpler, a neat summarizing of what CPTSD is, and how it happens. Sign in to see full entry.

Lightening the Load

All my life I have had a hard time with those situations of silence, of lack of response to what I have needed, have said, have done, have asked... The need for response has made me a bit crazy at times, and if it is the long on-going situation--a lot crazy. It has killed relationships of all kinds. It has made insurmountable walls between me and my feelings, me and people I needed too much in my life. Being stone-walled in an argument has infuriated me, even tempted me to violence. For years... Endings and beginnings...? If you can't get there from where you are--if, for instance, you don't do Facebook--It is about another moment of cosmic transformation, the ending of a galactic age, the beginning of a new one that makes some new transformative, transcendent energies accessible. Bearing in mind that this kind of thing applies more to spirits than to bodies, bodies do get the benefit of renewed spirits, ideally. The... Sign in to see full entry.

Righteousness and Hubris

There are few things that really get my hackles up enough to block or 'unfriend' someone, and that is the kind of arrogant self-righteousness that comes from those so certain that their own truth should be everyone's, that they are something special for being so right, so correct. It is the very opposite of humility. It slams shut any possibility of learning, of letting new information enter. It condemns any other ideas or feelings or interpretations than its own. It has no self-doubt in it.... Sign in to see full entry.

Healing for the Spirit This is a great read from many poets and other writers about the value of turning to the natural world to find solace in difficult moments of life. Sign in to see full entry.

Seeds and Siblings

I believe in 'seed energies.' Every colonial nation began with its own particular energy: The US, with the Puritans; Canada with a bunch of death-defying missionaries and French rogues; the lands to the south with Spanish conquistadors seeking gold at any cost, and collecting souls into the horrors of the medieval Inquistion-dominated Catholic church. Australia... the 'refuse' of the British Isles, and the discarded politicians sent to keep them in line with British traditions, laws, and rules.... Sign in to see full entry.

Making a shift

My 'child' is unbearably sad today. Body-loneliness: The hunger for physical contact, for physical connection; the cure for the exhaustion of sadness when even hope seems naive and futile. I think today is going to be about finding treatments for this condition other than cynicism and apathy. I'm too old to be a sincere cynic, and apathy is just so boring. Self-pity isn't worth the embarrassment when one realizes how much worse some people have it, who still go on doggedly pursuing life. There... Sign in to see full entry.
