In Battle of the Wills, Abuelita Wins, darned old computer !!!

Miss Me? I missed you, only logged onto Blogit one time in the past week. Withdrawal hurts. Another fabulous gang of bacteria attacked and left me low. But, I’m out of bed and posting an auction on eBay again, so things are better. It’s been very cold. My dogs are only lumps under blankets on the futon now. I rarely see anything but an occasional nose or paw. Even the neighbor’s dogs, who sleep here until 2 a.m. nightly have joined the lumpy dog blanket group. I wonder how they sleep at home... Writing Bug Attacks Elderly Woman Causing Excessive Blogging

If you click on my benzinha name at the bottom of this post, you will see that I have been writing in many more blogs again, those which I had previously abandoned. Dunno why, just gotta talk, talk, talk I suppose. I may abandon them again, so go read quickly about grandchildren, pets and politics and beliefs and business. Gosh, somebody stop me. Is there no cure for this massive word spill? Deus me livre, as we say in Portuguese. Sign in to see full entry.

Overwhelmed, Over Gifted and Thankful that It's Over..............

It was a lovely and quiet Christmas. One sister was in London with her husband. They were babysitting their grandson, born in England, while his mommy delivered their second grandchild, a lovely new daughter. Two grandchildren born in the Motherland and in need of future Americanization. Another sister took her family to Las Vegas so that they would get in closer touch with each other by isolating themselves into a smaller, contained unit. We shall hear later about just how successful this plan... Sign in to see full entry.

Zen Breathing and The Wonder of Air and Lungs

So, children and grandchildren and parents and friends have yelled at me for years, since I was eleven years old and I was first caught smoking, to quit this habit. Well, the grandchildren weren't yelling at me when I was eleven, but their great grandparents and great aunts and uncles were yelling at me. I stole Dad's red packaged Pall Mall, filterless cigarettes and forced the smoke into my lungs, I had asthma at the time. I would sit with my twelve year old girlfriend and she would smoke her... A Christmas in the Desert, What a Show !!

First, let me say that my lovely daughter lied to me, telling me to be at her daughter’s elementary school for a 6 p.m. Holiday Show. I raced to get there early, at 5:45. No one was there. I sat in the second row and saved three more seats, reading Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich. I bought the book for my second sister’s Christmas present, she'll read it on the jet to London to witness her newest granddaughter's birth. I was wearing the lovely earrings and necklace purchased for my fourth sister’s... Sign in to see full entry.

Tiiiiiiiime is No Longer on My Side, no it ain't........

Time, the most valuable commodity and most wasted of our precious resources. We either waste it by not using it, or by using too much of it in the improper areas of our lives. I say, "Profound and wise, Abuelita, and Ratz!!" to that. Blogger Friar Tuck received my cd rom of photos of my work and wrote nice things to me. Maj did, too. I haven't had a real minute to write to friends and to thank them for their kindnesses. I have been following the Tony Robbin's cds and doing his CANI instructions... Sign in to see full entry.

Ruandan Heroes, Clove Scented Clouds and a Dejected Count

Well, the Sesame Street Count could have gotten up to, "Five, Five Days Not Smoking!" and then his shouts would have disappeared in the smoke of the cigarettes which I confiscated from my son’s room. I had told him that I was trying to never smoke again and then he said, "So, I had better not mention that I bought my first real carton of Djarum’s?" I can avoid my own precious cigarettes like the plaque when into self denial and self torture, but I can smoke other people’s cigarettes if they are... Sign in to see full entry.

Life is Better with Baby Steps

My sister gave me an Anthony Robbins cd booklet called Power Talk! She has given me a large shoe box, full in two layers of his tapes, too. This one is to get me out of a depression and moving again. I listened to him while I drove yesterday. I am taking baby steps 'constantly and neverendingly improving' as he pushes. Anyway, Three, ThreeDays of not Smoking!! I hadn't noticed any difference until I went to bed last night without reaching for air and awoke this a.m. without doing it either. So,... Sign in to see full entry.

Door Banging, Guns and Small Miracles

My days and nights are all turned around. Last night, I went to bed at 6 a.m. and didn’t get up until 2 p.m. today. That is too far off a normal day’s schedule, so, I’m going to bed at midnight tonight to see if I can be a regular person again. Major coincidence today from a tale that I wrote few posts ago, about someone banging against my door one night about a week ago and then the police gathering all over the street out front, helicopters overhead. My retired teacher girlfriend called from... Sign in to see full entry.

Some photos of my work, if the HTML is right!!

I had to make the photos so small to upload to villagephotos.com, that they are now all fuzzy, but, I can't complain when the hosting is free, now can I? So, if I did this correctly, ahem, please diosito, there should be six photos of some of the variety of angels that I make in clay. A ver. Might have to come back and try again.....sigh. These four are coyotes, two are pueblo designed, one is Sioux and one has roses on her dress. Their whiskers are made of horsetail. This shows a small variety... Sign in to see full entry.
