Bags are overpacked, carry-on is as light as I can make it... the right shoulder feels better, now that the left is really messed up--glad to be living in the age of Ibuprofen. some surprising autumn colors

I took some photos as I walked around the neighborhood, this lovely autumn day. The dogwoods, dark and solid-looking in the sunlight, they turn into transluscent red lanterns when the sun is behind them. Maples are brilliant yellow to red, like flame.
