Autumn is coming...

Every summer, as August takes hold, and days are suddenly seen to be a little shorter, and the light changes, I begin to consider autumn, even though the leaves here won't change dramatically until October or even November. Wildflowers of Kodachrome Basin State Park

A few miles east of Bryce Canyon National Park, this little park has a strange and spooky energy, at least it did the day I was there. Packing...

It isn't Southwest Airlines this time, so my two weeks of luggage will be a well-stuffed carry-on and a nice soft shopping bag of the sort that has a zippered opening, and will cram under the seat in front of me without difficulty. My daughter called me last night to ask if I'd be willing to come doggy-sit in July for a couple of weeks, while she goes to spend some time with her husband in England. She'd pay for the ticket.
