Over the Great White North

Samlesbury Hall

This is a house in the north of England built in the 1300s, now a popular 'museum' house, tourist attraction and event venue. This is where I found and bought the spinner's chair. Bring provisions...

I just paid nearly $30 for two small trays of sushi at the Keflavik Airport outside Reykjavik. Ridiculous,but at least the sushi wasn't bad. It wasn't great, but far better than your average grocery store sushi. The sun is shining past light clouds and the temperature is ~7C which is ~42F, and windy... Sign in to see full entry.

Final Packing

In a couple of hours we are headed towards Manchester Airport. The flight from there through Reykjavik to Denver CO will take around 11-12 hours and at the end there will be no more 45 minutes to collect my luggage, get through Customs and meet the shuttle to Colorado Springs. Hebden Bridge

On the ground again

There was wifi available on the flight, but in Discomfort Economy it isn't free, so I didn't bother with it. Then, once at the house in Whalley there was no wifi for this little notebook laptop I have instead of the huge and heavy laptop I usually have traveled with. My son in law saw it last time...
