Invitation to all quoters/poets

Quote for the Day:

A new inspiration has hit me for this space on my blog.

Instead of quoting famous people, let’s quote bloggers. This can be Blogger Quote of the Day. I have come across some really fantastic writing here on Blogit and would love to support my fellow bloggers. I have one lined up already but am just waiting to get permission.

Here’s the invitation – Have you written or read a quote by a blogger that was beautiful, funny, touching or inspiring? Drop me a comment. If it’s your own, give me the quote and indicate that I may reprint it. If it isn’t your work, please give Blogger’s name so I can get their permission. The idea is that there are wonderful writers out there. Let’s support them. When you read the Blogger Quote for the Day, and you like, visit their site (Accessible through my people list) and let them know,

Ground Rules – Not Negotiable:

No quotes without Blogger concerned being given full credit.
Quotes only posted with permission from writer.
No Offensive or Negative Quotes.

If I find that quotes fall into above categories, I won’t post them.

Guidelines – Not to be taken extremely seriously

No girl-bashing, guy-bashing is fine. (Hey, this ain’t a democracy)
No blonde jokes – Brunettes won’t understand them
No fat jokes – Unless you’re undertall for your weight. (Fat jokes are only funny if told by the non-supermodels amongst us.)

Oh heck, send in what you want and I as autocratic dictator of my blog (No, the power is not getting to my head) will post those that I like. (Feel free to disgree if you want to.)

Not a newbie...

...but thought I'd drop in and say "hi" anyway.  I've been on blogit for about a year now and it's always a neat place to be.  There are so many cool people here and I really enjoy getting the cool recipes, taking a look into people's lives and sharing my own stuff.  In doing so, I also use this place as a creative outlet.  When I started here I was in the beginnings of a very painful divorce.  Now that is done and past and I have new stuff to share.  Anyway, just wanted to say hi.

Looking forward to reading you!

Help for the world

Hi everyone:

I'm new to blogit and enjoying looking around, finding other comments regarding how much this concept is appreciated and getting my first glimpse at getting to know some of you.

My posts will probably be concerned most often with ways to promote peace, love and justice in the world.  I'm coming from a Catholic Christian point of view, but I hope that doesn't automatically put a bad taste in your mouth.  Though I have a strong faith it's based on my dedication to love.  I'm a Catholic because at this point in my life it seems to me to be beneficial in helping me to advance in my quest to love everyone.

I believe that anyone who is sincere has something worthwhile to say and something that I can learn from.

Take care

Mike

Public Schools as a tool of government READ THIS IT'S FUNNY!

Once again I take you to the world of public education via the high school. Before our visit however, it is necessary for you the reader to better understand the function and purpose of government as we know it today. So thanks to my large and impressive research staff I offer the following scientific enlightenment.

A major research institution has announced the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science, Governmentium. It has 1 neutron, 12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons, and 111 assistant deputy neutrons for an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons that are further surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like sub-particles called peons.

Governmentium has a normal half-life of three years. It doesn't decay but "reorganizes", a process where assistant deputy neutrons and deputy neutrons change places. This process actually causes it to grow as in the confusion some morons become neutrons, thereby forming isodopes.

This phenomenon of "moron promotion" has led to some speculation that Governmentium forms whenever sufficient morons meet in concentration, formaing critical morass. Researchers believe that in Governmentium the more you reorganize, the morass you cover.

Expand Features Listing, Include Subject Headings Instead of Blog Headings

I enjoy using Blogit, but I think the service would be improved and more useful to readers if Blogit were to expand the length of the "Featured Writers" listing (to at least twice its current size) so that more writer's work will be on display each time the listing is renewed. I don't know how featured writers are selected, but to encourage more readership it would be helpful if they were selected at random from blogs that have been posted within the past 7-days. This would also encourage writers to write at least weekly.

My second suggestion is that when featured writers appear, Blogit should show the subject heading of the current posting rather than the name of the blog without the subject heading. If the subject heading of the current posting is shown it will give readers a more accurate sense of what they will be reading. It will put them in a better position to make a selection.

I hope these suggestions are helpful.

Hello? Anyone home?

Does anyone read and respond to this page? Just wondering. I'm a newbie and would like some pointers about Blogit. Seems like a great idea for communication but I fear the lights are on but no one is home.

Hello again everyone!

I wrote my first Blog It entry; oh, what a great place this is for a writer!

Check out Songbird Shafer's Blog; a lot of my material will be more essay style. Writing essays puts me in touch with my soul, and for me, is almost a spiritual experience.

What about the rest of you? What is your favorite means of expression? Do you essay, gripe, write poetry...?

Thanks again to the creator of Blog It. God bless everyone!
