FILL IN THOSE TAN LINES
I was informed yesterday that I don't know my city as well as I should and need to get out more. I was crossing one of the pedestrian bridges over the lake when I got stopped by some guys who were standing around looking at the water. They asked me if I knew of a place around town where the girls go...

Odd Selection Process
I signed up at Match dot com and am setting up a profile. I did a search and have been skipping women who don't like cats. Most folks who know me know I am a cat person. I don't have a cat but would like one some day and that needs to be an option.

Managing an eating program
I am sitting here at 4:30am eating chicken soup and a pretty sizable salad because I did not get in all the meals I am required to eat on this diet during the day. On Thursdays I don't eat much before my weight management class because we weigh in at 4:30pm. Even on the other days I am still eating...

The calculation is in
Over the last 9 weeks I have walked a total of 72.41667 hours, which comes to 72 hours 25 minutes, which is just over THREE DAYS. My pace is roughly 2 miles per hour, so that means I have covered a distance of 144.83333 miles, which is from my house to just south of Dallas or round trip in the other...

Christian Spam
This was part of a message that I had to click the spam filter on. I am just not sure if "oxymoron" is a strong enough term.

Working on my tan
If you look at my picture on Ariala's photo page you can see I can probably take or leave tanning. Since I have been walking every day I have started putting on SPF 45 Sunblock. I have had a few sunburns in my life. I just think that diabetes and cholesterol are enough trouble and do not care to add...

The Flipside of Epicureanism
The Epicureans of ancient Greece used to say "Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die." People still say that today in one form or another. Prince's song "1999" is a good example of it. It's a fatalist approach to life, whose flipside is heard whenever people say "Oh well. We're all going to...

Way toooooo self-centered of late
It is 9:15pm and I just looked at the calendar and saw that today is Father's Day. Since this diet/obsessive walking thing started in April I have become more and more self-absorbed with my schedule and getting my lunch together to take to work and getting my walk in so I can get ready for work. So...

Calories count, even if you aren't counting them
It doesn't matter what exchange system you're using, whether it's points, calories, carbs, fats, flabs, helpings, servings, shovels-full, shitloads or portions. If you take in more than you burn, you will gain weight. I gained back the 2.4lbs that I had lost the previous week. This is due to...

Weight update
So far I have gotten rid of 32.6 lbs. The doctor told me that I have lost a 3 year old. I am definitely going to have to invest in some new pants. These are getting a bit baggy. I have also consumed approx. 80 Asian pears and 60 bananas over the past 8 weeks. I am convinced that I am singlehandedly...
