Misinterpretation means Miseducation

I recently posted an article on the topic of prostitution used in sacred ceromony in ancient times. My main point of the article was all but lost in the post because of the word's primary use and constantly revised definition. As a dedicated and humble up-coming author I must apologize for this confusion--as I would never want to confuse my readers with totally inaccurate words or topics. I think redefining and revising new age words and grammar play a big part in this chaos. Not only is this a... Sign in to see full entry.

The Oldest Profession may have been oldest religion

pros·ti·tute (pr s t -t t, -ty t ) n. 1. One who solicits and accepts payment for sex acts. 2. One who sells one's abilities, talent, or name for an unworthy purpose. When we usually think of the word, we most often picture a street walker (mainly female) searching her surrounding area for lonely, confused, or otherwise unfaithful men to trade sexual favors for cash. In reality, as we can see from one definition, the word actually means the service of promoting and selling ones ability, talents,... Sign in to see full entry.

On Gay/Lesbian Marriage in a Straight World

When it comes to the subject of Gay and Lesbian marriage, I suppose my feeling are contradictictory of one and the other: I'm not totally for it, not totally against it. My wife has her own feeling about this, and it stays among the most talked about topics of our discussions. At one time I felt that of course, this is America...one has free-choice to do what he/she wants to do. And then I revert back to my dominant feelings of family, tradition, etc. In that case, how will it look to the... Sign in to see full entry.

Horse and Carrot...er Carraige

In today's tough world and economic imbalance, one would have to keep their eyes open and their senses attuned to their surrounds. Or else you may find your self being one of the people being "lead by the nose"--or a horse forging forward, seeking a carrot it may never eat. The officials and politicians of society would have us all believe that things or either fine or better than it seems to be, but any man or woman of sound mind-and even a not so wise counsel-can clearly see that we're on a... THE PASSING OF A POET...

Oh, Lord, my husband is so much better than at this than I am, but I said I'd share in the input of this page, so here's my input. I was searching for news related articles to write about, and was thinking of rambling on about what I think about gay marriages and asking readers to give their thoughts on it. Then I ran across a headline about a local poet named Jack Gilbert passing at the age of 87. He had lived in an assisted living home for the past three years due to dementia. He 'only' had 5... Who likes the Green Stuff?

(CNN) -- The residents of Colorado and Washington state have voted to legalize the recreational use of marijuana, and all hell is about to break loose -- at least ideologically. The problem is that pot is still very much illegal under federal law, and the Obama administration must decide whether to enforce federal law in a state that has rejected the substance of that law.... ******************************************************************************************************************* Once... One woman's point of view on Sex

Hi all, I had to follow up on my husbands post from yesterday and give a different pov or maybe not so different, maybe I should say a woman's pov. I read some of the comments from readers and have to say I agree and disagree with them to a degree. Personally, I think society as a whole puts way too much emphasis on sex. I mean we see it every where we turn, on t.v., in commercials, self help books, etc... Sex is a part of life, it's a human need on many levels both emotional and physical. Men... Sex: Restraint, reward, or reproduction

As we all know, sex is quite the drug: stimulating, relieving, and even a healing method in some instances. It has been used and misused in many ways since the beginning of time. From sacred harlotry to the profession of prostitution; to simple, sinful, lust. Sex and sexual attraction has shaped and reshaped our lives over the centuries. I fear it's misuse leads to many more problems than one can imagine. Even in a thing such as divorce or break-up, sexual dissatisfaction or its allure to... Sign in to see full entry.

Repairing the Broken Home

As I grew up, I witnesses a wide variety of dysfunction in my household: drug addiction and prostitution, brutal sibling rivalries, drug deals and items from shoplifting, child neglect, etc. My famly was poor...and many times unsupportive in learning needs and when in emotional distress. Some children that come from such a home turn to drugs, violence, and outside family support that may lead down destructive paths. I went down some of these roads myself. Though I came from such a background, I... Sign in to see full entry.
