I'm going to have to have a nap today if I'm going to run tonight

Saturday and Sunday are the days that follow my short nights of sleep. Yesterday I was tired even though I felt like I had enough sleep. Last night was a bit less than 4 hours of sleep. I'll probably try to sneak in a bit of a nap today after I lift weights. Tomorrow we are heading into town for a... Sign in to see full entry.

I need an attitude adjustment for my running

Or maybe just a little extra energy. I took the night off where the wind was blowing so hard and then the next night I didn't run either and I have no reason other than I was tired. That's not a good reason at all. Last night and tonight are the rest days because I get home from work so late. That... Sign in to see full entry.

The wind blew away my good intentions

Last night we had quite the windstorm. The kind that sends garbage cans down the road. We have those large city cans that are lifted on the side of the garbage trucks. I live at the end of a road and last night, I had an extra garbage can. I think it's my next door neighbors. She lives the can on... Sign in to see full entry.

Tweaking the plan again. It's a never ending process

My right calf was starting up a protest again. I'm not sure why this guy thinks he has control over my whole body but he does. I don't know what I'm going to do with him. I didn't let him win last night. Maybe he'll give up eventually and fall in line with the rest of the bodyparts when he sees that... Sign in to see full entry.

Yesterday's run was a little weird but I can't complain

My wife asked me to get everything that I needed done out of the way early in the night so she could have my undivided attention for the rest of the night. That meant going for an early run. In the sunlight. I'm more of a vampiric runner now. I used to run in the day but now that I live in the... Sign in to see full entry.

I weighed myself today out of curiosity and it was absolutely no surprise

What's it been? Around a week since I weighed myself? My new theory is to go with my gut feeling or by feeling my gut. Something like that. My scale hasn't been serving much purpose. Since beginning my quest 8 weeks ago, it hasn't changed much. With every little change that I have made to my plan,... Sign in to see full entry.

Good morning. I'm feeling the double whammy today.

The double whammy has nothing to do with my exercise program. It's the combination of work and watching a two year old adventurous boy. I got home from work late last night and my son got up early this morning. That means that I got 4 hours of sleep. I know I'll be feeling better when my body gets... Sign in to see full entry.

My calf is on the mend and should be ready for tomorrow's run

The soreness in my calf is just about drowned out by the soreness in my hamstrings. I worked legs yesterday, even my calves. My calf seemed to come through the workout none the worse for wear. My hams are the good kind of pain that means I actually worked them out. I have been trying a variation... Sign in to see full entry.

Yesterday was the 5th day of my 5 day running plan and the winner is...

I debated all day about whether or not to run. I probably think about exercise more than I need to lately but it's one of the main focuses of my life right now. I was sore when I woke up. I could feel my back workout from the day before but mostly I could feel my right calf. I went through the rest... Sign in to see full entry.

Oh boy, can I feel it all today!

I was so excited about my new pr on Tuesday that I didn't mention that I ran that night. I ran last night as well and it was a struggle. I could feel the weight lifting in my chest as I ran. That part was a good feeling but I struggled against high winds and fatigue. I run The Hill with each run and... Sign in to see full entry.
