As I Said In The Other Blog...

M y novel is complete. I think because I challenged myself to see if I could do it. The book buying for my son a couple of days ago gave the energy I needed to actually try to see if I can find an agent to publish my book. I remember a writer on television saying that his book was rejected 40 times... Sign in to see full entry.

THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!

I submitted a story to Virtual Tales in February. I heard back from them saying that they loved the four chapters of the story I submitted and that I should send them the other 14 I had completed at that time. I tidied it up some and sent it off. Then, I heard back from them a week later saying that... Sign in to see full entry.

I'VE DONE IT!

I ’ve actually completed a book during the time I’ve not been here. It took me five months to do it and I am now in the process of re-writing and as you all know, that’s the hard part. The trouble is, I don’t always recognize when I’ve got to the point of diminishing returns; that is, when to stop... Sign in to see full entry.

I FINALLY GOT THEM OFF!

I ’m feeling a major sense of achievement today because I edited and sent off two stories that I hope to have published. It’s certainly taken me long enough. I’ve noticed that I’ve gone from thinking that the only thing I could write is articles to believing that I was born to write fiction. There’s... Sign in to see full entry.

NEW YEAR....NEW AMBITION

H ow do you get from the point where you feel you can’t tell a story worth a damn to the point where you feel you’re a natural born storyteller? A matter of testing the waters, I suppose. I still do tend to load my writing with useless words, but I feel I’ve found what I want to do, which is write... Sign in to see full entry.

ACTION & ADDICTION

I’m writing more than I have in a long time. I’ve been thrown a challenge and I’m trying to keep up. At the same time, I need to strike a balance for there are other writing commitments that I’ve made that I’ve been neglecting. Writing, like a lot of other things, can be an addiction and right now I... Sign in to see full entry.

SO ARE YOU GOING TO WRITE IT OR WHAT?

I was reading Meringue’s Blog to do with writing deadlines and writing a book and I thought to myself how at all times, there are at least a couple of people around here that are on the same wavelength. Just yesterday, I was thinking about posting to my writing blog about the experiences I am having... Sign in to see full entry.

LISTEN BUDDY, JUST HANG ON FOR THE RIDE!

D on’t you just love when your characters kind of just tap you on the head and say ‘here I am, do ‘this’ with me.’? I was darned if I knew where I was going with the latest chapter of my adventure story when I started writing this morning. I know that I’m supposed to follow a plan and I am sticking... SENSUAL CONTENT

B y nature, I’m a worry wart. I like to chew things over from way on out. No waiting until the time is nigh for me, I must attack the problem now, no matter that it is over the next hill and beyond the rainbow. Having said that, I’m in the process of turning one of my short stories into a novel and... Sign in to see full entry.

JUST WRITE IT DOWN!

W hen you can make your readers feel a part of your story and identify with the character you’ve created, then you’ve done a fine piece of writing. It may need a little touching up here and there, but in my book, that’s one of the most important components to a well written story. I think I’ve... Sign in to see full entry.
