Bedtime

Coffee break

11:30 a.m. Still no word from daughter. I have been digging over the north-facing front bed under my study window, and unearthed substantial quantities of wet, sticky grey clay and a lot of rubble -- pieces of clay water pipes, lumps of concrete, a large metal bolt or two, and endless large stones.... Perplexed

7 a.m, and my daughter has obviously decided not to stay here last night. I'm not sure what to do about this, nor what message she is sending me. I've spent a restless night by myself, to no purpose. About this Blog

I started this blog in 2006, round about the time my 28-year marriage was unravelling. It was difficult for all concerned, even for my ex who handled the situation about as badly as it’s possible to do. The damage is still emerging, when I least expect it. The children are adults and both now live with their father in Australia. After the divorce, the future initially looked bright. It still does, although there are a number of complications. I have a new relationship to nurture, sometimes thrown into confusion through my daughter’s negativity when she visits. I’m a member of the church choir, which is really important to me. I think I’m happy, apart from those moments of conflict and opposition that we can all do without. Time will tell. To quote William Shakespeare: O time, thou must untangle this, not I. It is too hard a knot for me t'untie
