America needs a draft, and gasoline controls, and electricity price hikes.

This war is like diet soda, get all you want and more, no consequences. The only reason Vietnam ended was that the people dying were not only strangers from across the sea, but people we knew, their children, and they were not volunteers. Once you volunter for the present military, you lose your... Sign in to see full entry.

Sorry I've been busy.

I'm looking at hitting my 20th aniversary with my employer this summer, and want to make as smooth a dismount as possible if I choose to go then. This includes looking into schooling, figuring out how to get which medical work done before I COBRA out, ditto dental and eye care, then burn no bridges... Sign in to see full entry.

Different cultures/diferent ways.

A teenaged girl in Dearborn, Michigan, a strongly SW Asian/Middle Eastern habituated area which used to be known for its blue collar caucasian racism, is audiotaped by Public Radio at a street rally celebrating the execution of Saddam Hussein, exclaiming ecstatically that she was so happy to be...
