Afzal50, it is a sad post.

Somalia comes to mind also, but we didn't do that (all by ourselves)so it didn't fit the post.

 

It is axiomatic that we always prepare for the most recent past war. We keep trying to prevent WWII when perhaps a nastier paradigm shift awaits us, where so-called third world countries have been brought to closer parity with western Europe/America and their neighbors through arms sales subsidized by drug and oil sales. Their cultures were denied the opportunity to grow, or forsook the opportunity to adapt, into a more liberal and less warlike stance.
