Blog DescriptionAttempting to provide a different perspective on the things that we have come to accept and believe but this time around with a much mellower tone. Make no mistake however, patience with the bible lobotomized, (or those rendered dysfunctional by any holy book for that matter), is still in short supply. All I would ask anyone to consider is this; we all have a penchant to default to the notion of respecting the beliefs of others, my first response when someone tries to play that card against me is always the same . . . "you first" |
Monday, June 4, 2007How in the heck do you get to heaven?Probably the most striking aspect of when someone tells me that their particular religion holds within it the only path to heaven is the fact that the majority of people have no idea what others in the world believe. It really doesn't matter which church or religious organization one belongs to... There is no other way to insure that my new religion would become dominant and overwhelm the other "false" religions. All religions worth their salt have a viral element of one... It seems that none of us can escape death, taxes and religious whoppers. The yarns religious folks tell take many forms; there are many... I don't think that we can ever be surprised at the lengths people will go to in making a point. It doesn't even seem to matter when religion is involved, if the point itself has any merit. This can be said about a relatively... Or is this too much of an assumption? Maybe I never noticed it before, or maybe the internet and other forms of modern... It is possible mind you, there are other religions in this world where the adherants feel that everyone else must convert to their way of... A world that I have to live in and raise my children in. A world that I have every right to... If there is one commonality to be found in all religious dogma that cannot be refuted, it is that they are entirely terran based (of this Earth). Aside from a few passages amongst the collective of mankind's holy scriptures that could possibly be... For non catholics, that is where you go into a little dark cubicle and fess up your sins to a priest sitting in an adjoining little dark cubicle through a little... We have also seen derivatives of this theme in public declarations by some that they do not promote tolerance or they feel that society has become far too tolerant, or that we must all become less tolerant..... okay...
