They have a section about hi-tech etiquette, and the subject of this column was caller i.d.: should you let people know that you know who they are? Their example: a friend calls. Do you say, "Hi, Bob!" or just "Hello,"... Sign in to see full entry.

The Blog Entry From Hell

Thanks to the miracle of modern technology, I am writing this in the May Clinic waiting room. It is very early in the morning and I am exhausted. You all know that I was up almost all night Saturday at the Halloween party. Well, last night as I was shutting down my computer.... We interrupt this... Sign in to see full entry.

Working backwards from the Halloween party

What makes me think I'll be able to participate in Nanowrimo this year? (That's National Novel-Writing Month.) I haven't even blogged in three days! I have been getting ready for the most important event of the year: the annual Halloween celebration at K's, which was last night. So let's start there... Sign in to see full entry.

At least I wasn't stupid enough to run out of gas!

So here I am, ready to drive off to my manicure so I can look bee-yoo-tee-ful for all the cool stuff I'm going to do this weekend, when my car goes, Rrrrrr..... Rrrrrr..... Rrrrr.... and refuses to turn over. Damn battery! Damn starter! Damn whatever has broken this time. And I had just decided that... Sign in to see full entry.

The Hatchet Man

Part of this post belongs in Pray With Bunny, because it contains a praise report. (I wish I could think of another term that doesn't give people the false impression that I'm Christian, but it's such a good term! Well, they use enough Pagan stuff; I guess I can use "praise report"!) Anyway, one of... Sign in to see full entry.

Terri Schindler Shiavo

Last Wednesday, BN member LadyKenobi wrote about Terri Schindler Shiavo in this blog entry. Terri is the Florida woman who has been in a vegetative state for thirteen years. Her family believes she is aware of her surroundings and could benefit from therapy. Her husband, Michael Shiavo, who has... Sign in to see full entry.

Grown-Up Girls' Gathering

And here I thought the one thing I'd definitely have time to do in Michigan was blog! Just like at home, the more I have to say, the less time I have in which to say it! But until I can carve out a little time when I'm actually awake enough to form coherent thoughts for blogging, I'll just tell you... Sign in to see full entry.

How could my memory be so off?

My Dad's wife has a brother whom we'll call Uncle S. I haven't seen Uncle S in almost twenty years. The last time I saw him was at a Thanksgiving dinner at his house, which was new at the time. It was a wonderful house; his wife had done an amazing job of designing and decorating it. Although the... Sign in to see full entry.
