Since One of Christ's Symbols is a Fish . . .

How about an underwater church? One could build a large, watertight enclosure, with all the necessities for a church service, and fill it with water. All the congregants and the minister and the choir, could wear, along with their SCUBA gear, radio transceivers to be able to communcate and to hear... Sign in to see full entry.

Terrarium Church . . . . .

I enjoy outdoor worship, but many prefer an actual building in which they may congregate. How about a compromise? Build a church that has the walls, the roof, the flor, etc., but also has many natural features, such as an arboretum, a pond stocked with life forms, a rock face for climbing, or just... Worship in Silence . . .

I would love to attend a church where there is no sound -- no talking, no sermon, no music, nothing. One could just go into the church, alone or with others, to listen for the divine wisdom that comes only when the mind is still and the senses are unencumbered. That is one reason I enjoy camping,... A truly Diverse Church . . . .

This may seem inefficient, but hear me out. How about a church congregation that allows only one family per religion to join it? Yes, that would mean one Christian family, one Bhuddist family, one Hindu family, one Pagan family, etc., for all the religions of the world. The ministry/sermon/service... Churches to be simplified. . .

How about churches taking a hard stance on their materialism? Churches being built today are largely beautifuilly designed works of architecture, costing many time more than is necessary to serve as meeting places for the faithful. The money used for buildings could actually be doing the work of... Sign in to see full entry.

Church of the Thankful

How about a church dedicated to thanking the god(s) every service, for the entire service? It would be a church for Christians, Pagans, Jews, Hindus, etc., where all beings who felt they wre divinely created could gather just to express thanks, without worrying about the name of god or god's... Astral Church

More and more people are traveling on the astral plane; I know, I meet them there. Why not have an Astral Church where people go to worship while their bodies lie at home, asleep? Sign in to see full entry.

The Gospel According to . . . .

Since we are rapidly turning into a TV-watching nation, why not have a church centered about the gospel according to a particular television series, for instance, The Church of the Gospel According to Survivor would explore morality and salvation in the context of the show Survivor. This type... Sign in to see full entry.

Nude Church Services

About an hour and a half from my home there is a weekly non-denominational Christian service conducted entirely in the nude, parishoners and ministers, and choir. It is the weekly service at the Nudist Camp in Zuni, VA. The camp, White-Tail Park, has an excellent reputation and has been a good... Sign in to see full entry.

A Church of Holy Study

It would be fantastic to have an interdenominational church with the entire congregation dedicated to serious study of its own theology. When I say serious study, I mean that they enterinto a contract with themselves to look at the scriptures they use with no bias (difficult, I know!) and to dig... Sign in to see full entry.
