Church of the Truly Christ-Like

The Church of the Truly Christ-Like would be an exclusive place of worship for those who follow the teachings of Christ without fail; they do not judge others; they care for the less fortunate; they love without conditions attached; they love their enemies; they are in tune with the wqishes of God... Church of Heavenly Appearance . . .

Why not give churches a distinctive coat of paint? Let people know what is supposedly ahead by painting the ouside of churches to look like a cloud-filled sky, not the dark, storymy clouds, but the fluffy, white, summer clouds you see on a beautiful summer's day as you ponder the universe from a... Church of the Presumptuous Small Minds . . . .

Recent posts and comments have given me the idea that the "Holier Than Thou" group needs to have a church where everyone is like them. Normally they make up only a small number of "normal" churches. This would give them the opportunity to gloat and criticisethose with whom they do not agree. Their... Sign in to see full entry.

Church of the Holy Gossip . . .

This Church of the Holy Gossip would be very popular. The services would consist of a minister who would essentially act as a mediator, or as a facilitator, to keep the congregation on track. Actual truth would not be vital, but the spiritual truths based on the gossip supplied by congregants would... Sign in to see full entry.

Church of Christ Scientist

.... How about a church that reconciles science with religion? Current evangelicals claim to have "the answer" but, of course, it leans toward the mythological part of religion. How about a church to serve our spiritual needs, yet, adhering to what is known about science, and reconciling the two? Sign in to see full entry.

Church of the Unknown Deity

Face it. There may or may not be a god, but, if there is, we really know nothing about him or her or it. Why not a church that honestly explores the nature of divinity without the hand-holds of currely organized religions. This church would combine the knowledge and techniques of science;... Church in the Round . . . .

In the Church of the Round, the congregation is surrounded by a rotating ring, which is divided into three or more sections. Each section contains a choir, or a minister, or some other person/persons. As the ring rotates around the congregation, they get to enjoy whatever is currently in front of... Animal Church

... A local church has a "Bless the Animals Day" once a year, when parishoners bring their pets for blessings. Why not a church where we may choose to bring our pets with us to any service? The same rules as in a vets office would have to apply, no loose animals; all would have to be on leashes or... Sign in to see full entry.

Church of the Procrastinators . . . . .

And the chief procrastinator would be the minister. Services would be listed for 10 AM, but not start until the minister arrived, somewhere between 10:05 and noon, or later. And then he might or might not have completed, or even started preparing, his sermon. Parishoners, also, would be inclined... Sign in to see full entry.

Back to the Days of Golden, Olden Ideas . .

We need to re-institute the circuit rider, a preacher who travels around the state or country on a regular schedule. In these days, though, the circuit preacher would drive a large RV converted into a church/living area for the pastor. Sign in to see full entry.
