High Hopes for a New Year!

Now that 2005 is over I hope to get on with a better year. I can think of many positives for this coming year. First and foremost in my mind is that my husband will be home this year and that makes me very happy. Now, instead of saying "Oh, he will be back next year" and moping around I can say "He... Christmas Cards

For last three years I have sent out Christmas Cards to family and friends. I sent out 44 cards, to the tune of about $80 including cards and postage. Guess how many cards we got in return. Four, that's right I said four. Out of the four cards we received one them was from someone I didn't send a... Sign in to see full entry.

Hollyweird You Suck!

So this weekend I was hanging at home trying to relax after exiting the seventh layer of hell, oops I mean Christmas shopping. I took up roost on my couch with a bag of "Tender White" which I feel is the greatest thing Orville Redenbacher has ever invented. As I flipped through the channels I came... I am not cheap!

A few years back I had some friends come in from out of town. We went out to eat at one of the national chain restaurants. Okay enough of protecting the guilty it was Fridays. The wonderful food and service that we had come to expect from this company was lacking. I was little upset but my friends... It Ain't Easy Being Green!

In the almost four years I have been married I have taken a back-seat to MOS School, 3 other "Schools," annual training, drills, two deployments but it does not end there. We have missed spending every Valentine's Day together in the three and a half years we have been married. He has missed my... Sign in to see full entry.

Aunt Carrie Cookies ( A repost for the Holidays)

There is a long standing inside joke with my mother's family. Well, there was until we let my Husband in on it. Every Christmas get together at my family's house in Ohio you can always count on great company, great conversation, a wonderful ham dinner with all the trimmings, and the infamous Aunt... OMG I married a "Mixer"

Yes, it is official now and I cannot deny it anymore. I am officially a nut case. I just can't stand it! What is the "it" in question you ask? Well, "it" is the mixing up of things. My mother did "it" for years, taking half empty bags (hmm, does that make me a pessimist?) of Doritos and just... Sign in to see full entry.

A fabulous Turkey without witnesses to prove it.

My husband usually makes the turkey for Thanksgiving, but as most of you know he has a prior committment that prevents him from being home for the next year. There were a few ladies here that were also without Thanksgiving company so I invited them over. I guess they got better invitations since all... Sign in to see full entry.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow...

The past few years I have been coloring my hair to hide the gray. Since I could never get consistent results with highlighting and low lighting I finally decided about a year ago to go back to my "natural color". I come home with my new fabulous dark brunette "do" and my husband had a hissy fit. So... Sign in to see full entry.

Long Winded Comment

See Thanks to Everyone comment in Alpenwasser's Happy Veteran's Day essay on his Not for Nothin' Blog for the inspiration of this long winded comment. Al has yet again inspired me. I feel that climates are changing my friend. It seems like education and the media are both on the "out of site out of... Sign in to see full entry.
