Whenever I watch the news,
I can't help but think that our country has lost its mind. But, you know, I really believe there is a silent majority that knows how dangerous it is NOT to support our troops in Iraq.

Mike

I often see folks try to drag soldiers into political banter I feel it is unfair. I like to tell those folks to direct their need to pontificate to their legislature where it might do some good.

actually, ive had the opposite problem

people who have nothing to do with the military trying to give me their opinion on the war.  while (although i'm in the army) i tend to disagree with this war, i do have to bite my tongue when i hear a freshman in college tell me why the army is evil.

Amen!    Good news, though.  When I asked my daughter and her friend (they're both 11) what Veterans Day was about, they knew right away.  Now, I could explain away the fact that it was MY daughter (who know doubt has been subjected to countless dissertations from the old man).  But, her friend knew which gives me some peace.

I wish he was in the thoughts of everyone in this country.  While it's somewhat assumed that he is no longer with us, he can not be forgotten and must be brought home.

Military Wife
Matt Maupin is a hometown boy from here (SW Ohio) and is constantly in our thoughts.

I agree with you. Matt Maupin, is not forgotten here but I know I am in the minority.

I guess I am rather isolated or Michigan has a large number over there, not sure which.  In my small town of 3000  we have 3 NG members over there, a couple of Reg Army and one fallen Marine...it's hard to forget here.

It's amazing to me that we so easily move on with everyday life and not think about while there is still a young man from Ohio who has been missing for over 18 months.
