FORGET ME, SHE SAID.

"I just want to rest in peace next to my mom and grandmother. I want the family name to die out. That's what I want." I accidentally bumped into Miss Sandy in front of the library yesterday, and we were happy to see one another. She told me she had just been to a physical therapist, who told her the... TODAY'S FACEBOOK POST BY MY SON RUSTY

Early last night, I surrendered. Sleep was good. The spirit hours wanted to play, so I woke in the darkness seeing things through fresh eyes. It’s hard to talk about the treasures that find you sometimes, the real ones, but this morning, I’m compelled to tell you what I see. I trust these words to... Sign in to see full entry.

UPDATE:

About half an hour ago I got a phone call from my son Rich. He said I was the first one he was calling about the news from his recent scans & tests. Dr. told him the prostate "lit up" with cancer cells, but there was no sign that it was located anywhere else in the body. It has not metasticized.... Sign in to see full entry.

PREVIOUS POST DELETED

Some days my thoughts ain't fit for sharing. Today seems to be one of those days. If you read the entry I just deleted - about the situation in Ukraine and the unprincipled and deadly options taken by Vladimir Putin - then I apologize for handing you such a bummer of a read... I guess the "get the... Sign in to see full entry.

GOOD NEWS, AND MORE GOOD NEWS

The kids are back at St. B's this morning. Apparently, Easter break is over. For the first time in a week the world's most polite traffic jam was in full back-up mode, as parents with the right of way allowed those coming from the opposite direction to drive in, alternating. Wish the whole world was... Sign in to see full entry.

'tis the season...

Hay fever anyone? There's a wide variety of pollen out today, and plenty of breeze to carry it right to you. It's in the upper 40s today, maybe the lower 50s, and there is a frost warning overnight. By Friday it will be 80-ish. Mama used to call this pneumonia weather. Had a great Easter with my... Sign in to see full entry.

WHAT'S BEHIND THE PEARLY GATES?

Grandma Lucy once told me heaven was a place where the sun always shines, it's never too hot and there's no wind. She complained mightily about the almost constant wind that blew in the desert areas between the Cascades and the Yakima Valley in eastern Washington. She also said, with a beautific... THE TOSSUP

Two ideas for a post this morning. Topic 1: "Inappropriate Behavior, The Stupid Stuff Men Say to Women On The Job," and Topic 2: "Vladimir Putin, Mafioso." I was all set to describe the crap some guys pull, thinking they're being harmlessly cute and flirty and that the woman they target is bound to... Sign in to see full entry.

PROTOCOL OF THE ROYALS

If you've ever spent a couple hours playing computer solitaire, you may have come to think of the face cards - and even the numbers - as characters in a story. You may speculate how the game would change if the queen could take a place at the head of an empty column, rather than the king. Of course... Sign in to see full entry.

MENOPAUSE AS A LEGAL DEFENSE

My daughter Robin called earlier and we laughed together over a story she heard on her local news this morning. It seems that during the Covid shutdown a female judge had shown up for court every day, even though it was officially shut down and all cases postponed. She was charged with being mean...
