Waffle and Writings! for Thursday, January 15, 2009

This morning my son again fed the kitten. It is his kitten. I really like the fact that he takes on the task of feeding her and looking after some of her needs. When I can I will post a video of it and him playing. They are quite hilarious together. This animal seems to know to whom she belongs. As soon as I open the bedroom door she hops straight onto the bed and goes for his feet under the doona to play or pats the top of his head or his ears to wake him up I presume. Is a relaxing and rewarding activity,especially if the jam turns out well. I had just such an experience two days or more ago with apricots, BUT I have had a failure today with the fig jam that I was making. It failed dismally and a saucepan of stewed figs with about a 1/2 kilo of raw sugar will end up in the compost bin. Fat maggots, eh?
