On November 11th, I'm considering going back to my old high school for Homecoming and Peddie Day. Peddie Day is an athletic rivalry between my school and the Peddie School, two hours down the road. What alumni are allowed to do is tailgate. Because it's on the campus, we're not allowed to openly have alcohol containers. This was not such a huge tradition when I was a student, but it's become bigger and my classmates from the class of 2002 are looking to take advantage of this. It's been five... I think I spend too much money...
I looked at the balance in my checking account today and was absolutely shocked at what I saw. I hadn't realized how much money I was spending--money I don't have considering I'm unemployed and have no guaranteed way of making money. Most of what little I have goes towards books and clothes--I've lost a lot of weight over the summer and most of what I wore last winter doesn't fit me now. I've absolutely fallen in love with a black wool coat at J. Crew which is obscenely beautiful but also... Sign in to see full entry.
What I did with myself this summer
Over the summer, I spent six weeks in June and July doing a course in publishing at NYU. It's an industry I'd always wanted to go into, and I'd heard about the program through a continuing education board in the English department at my college. I wrote a beautiful, 9-page application (typed, double-spaced), and sent it in by the deadline of March 31st. I heard back a long time before I was supposed to. The course was divided: half was devoted to books and the other half to magazines. Because... Sign in to see full entry.

I'm a little spooked by the plane that crashed into an NYC building...
People are saying that it's not terrorists... the building serves primarily as an apartment building, but has administrative offices in the lower floors. I'm a bit nervous anyways and I'll bet that a lot of people in New York today are going to be on edge as well. The 20th floor sounds a little bit low for a plane to be flying, even a small plane such as the one involved. Reports on the web say that flames were flying out of the building and flaming debris was all over the ground... When my mom... Sign in to see full entry.
When I first got my iPod
I put nearly every CD I owned on it. That includes things I listened to as far back as middle school. As a result, what I usually do is skip through things I don't like or want to listen to. But today I decided to listen to my iPod the whole way through. alphabetically by artist. There are over 1,000 songs on it, so it'll take some time. I've just reached the Backstreet Boys, one of those boy bands that we middle schoolers were so inordinately fond of back in 1996 or whenever we listened to... Sign in to see full entry.
