It's not quite 7 am yet, and I've been awake since just past 6 thanks to lively and pretty close lightnings and thunderins! The whole of this state and others around us are in the midst of some wild weather since yesterday, some nearer to Denver even wilder with hail there even before the clouds stacked up here. By 4pm yesterday we had a local tornado warning given, so you can bet we were watching the clouds! Nothing came of that, that I'm aware. We started getting the thunderboomers last night,... Tuesday adventures
A warm and sunny day started too early for me considering a poor night's sleep but I had made a commitment to a teacher friend of mine to visit her class today. The occasion was a presentation of the 5th grade students' projects. The assignment was to design a museum exhibit on some aspect of North American history from 1492 to the present. My friend invited me to come and help assess their efforts. It was quite an ambitious undertaking for kids of their ages and experience, especially... Sign in to see full entry.

Sunday at home
After a busy week of running hither and thither, it's nice to have a day at home. Especially a nice day like this one--sunny and warm, in the low 70s. Time to catch up on some housekeeping and hang out with the critters. Charlie who is always doing something, is up in Castle Rock at another jugger tournament. This week we've gotten so much done at the workshop! The brackets and poles went up in the costume room and most of the costuming is put up in a in a preliminary way. In the center... And suddenly--Friday!
Sunny, warm days with a bit of rain, a couple of rolls of thunder... Sufficiently convinced we've got to spring at last, I spent a few dollars on flowering plants yesterday while Charlie picked up the last of the poles and brackets, some shelves, and some stain so they will match the new flooring. This week I've finally been able to start racking up the costuming. I had to find more different colored hangers in a season when all the fashionistas are favoring black, white, and grey. I finally... Sign in to see full entry.

Later Afters
Lovely weather today, temps in the high 60s, very sunny with some big dark clouds and weather over the mountains that never got here on the edge of the flat lands. It was a good weekend! Charlie sent home several Bears, a couple of his ink art pieces, a beaky plague mask he made of leather a while back, and one of his paper mache sculptures. I had some interesting conversations with quite a number of people, and sat down with seven of them for reading and healing sessions. The last two came... Sign in to see full entry.

First Day Done!
We had a pretty good day at the Oddities Expo, Charlie sending home several Wasteland Bears and some of his original ink art pieces. People looked at all of his various things, not just the bears or the inks, which he found very gratifying. I sat down and did energy reading/healing sessions with four people, each one of which was also pretty gratifying. It has been years since I did the annual ESP Fair circuit in the Pacific NW of the US and in Canada, and in that time I have learned to keep... Sign in to see full entry.

Getting ready for the weekend
Cold again, with a thin crust of white on the back porch rail... But the lilac leaves are opening out, and they will again prove stronger than Winter's last gaspings. I dreamed of dragons before waking this morning. I am sure it has something to do with watching Smaug in The Hobbit this past week, and a while ago watching a documentary of Benedict Cumberbatch all rigged up for motion-capturing his performance of Smaug. But my dragons weren't talkers, and I couldn't figure out how to communicate... Sign in to see full entry.

Gettin' 'er done!
In a couple of hours there will be snow in the mountains, They say, and rain here in the flat lands. It will start tonight which meant an extra trip to the workshop to unload some shelving that was given to us by the fella who installed the floor. The storage unit was cleared and swept out before noon today, even though we began the morning with a drive up to Monument--about 20 miles from the workshop--to pick up the last of the bits and bobs needed by The Little Shop of Horrors. That was... Sign in to see full entry.

Sun setting on another Sunday
Weather was nice enough today: no precip, not too cold. We went out after 1 to haul the next-to-last load from the storage unit. After that, a stop at Office Depot where Charlie needed 5 minutes (an hour) to get stuff printed up for the play, and then to the shop to unload a little roll-top secretary desk, a big iron parrot-cage, and a two-sided makeup table. The floors are done for the most part, and after sweeping some of the residual foot-prints from dirty boots, we rolled out some carpets.... Sign in to see full entry.

Dusty and Rusty--Not a couple of cowboys, but could be...!
And here we are on a Saturday morning, once again under a slow-growing blanket of snow, 4 inches so far. Temps in the 50s will see it off, but today we're going to have to move stuff from the storage despite the snow. Mostly it will be cardboard boxes, so I will take a bunch of big plastic contractor bags for those. There is a big parrot cage which already needs to be cleaned of dust and rust, so that's no worries. Maybe the mantelpiece will wait for tomorrow when it won't get wet on the 5-mile...
