The Sale Goes On
With everything shifted into my garage, Charlie didn't do much to draw in crowds, just notified some theater and gaming friends of his, that there were things they'd find interesting. And so they did: he made another $100. And now the day is chilly but sunny, and he has all the day to be here, he's going for one more try. Yesterday was interrupted by clowns. Dodi DiSanto ( http://www.thisisthecenter.com/cmt.html ), a renowned teacher of clowning gave a presentation at the school. She has been at... Sign in to see full entry.

Day Two, not a good one for sales in the yard
It is chilly, windy and wet. Not a day I would go saling, myself. Instead, I am sitting here with my Mexican 'scramblet,' the one made with cornchips, salsa and eggs, with avocado sliced over the top. It's a scramblet because sometimes eggs break and omelettes do not fold. It tastes just the same, and wouldn't be pretty on the plate for long, anyway. Sounds like the weather is ranging from merely like this, to attrocious... maybe even horrendous, all across the continent. It's a good thing we... Sign in to see full entry.

Sale in the yard: Day One
Charlie decided the time had come... this weekend (the one before rent is due) he wanted to finally do the yard sale we've been aiming to do for some time. He couldn't be here much of the day, but I could. It was not the usual kind of yard sale. This was a Theatrical yard sale! Props and costuming, gaming stuff like dice of various kinds, miniature figures of monsters and heroes... and just for the exercise, I put out my hats and some photo books. He made over $100, mostly not being there. It's... Sign in to see full entry.

A strange sound
I had to get up and go see what was making a very odd noise, to make sure it wasn't the cat or some bit of the house... And as I determined it was coming from outside, I realized--I had not thought to hear this sound again for a while: the sound of someone scraping frost off their windshield. Yes, and ther is frost on the roofs of the houses I can see out the back, and in the lower branches of the trees where the sunlight has not yet reached. I thought it was cold last night, and so... once... Sign in to see full entry.

True Spring and Nut Cases
The lilacs are leafing out nicely, unsmirched by late freezes and snows. The maple off the front deck is growing greener by the sunny hour. My little sprouts of sugar snap peas are looking optimistic. It is a clear view towards the mountain, which has a fresh white frosting which will likely become patchy during the afternoon. Madame was at the open back door, and I detoured on my way to give her peanuts, to grab a tissue from the living room table. When I turned around, she was on my chair,... Sign in to see full entry.

Painting Eggs
I have a long history as a doodler, always decorating school papers, eventually doing a kind of medieval calligraphy and illumination on a sorta real-like parchment and offering bits and pieces at the Pike Place Market. I once made a set of labels for wine bottles, but I made them on the flat, not on the bottles. So--decorating eggs is not the same. I have never worked on a rounded surface this way, with felt-tips. Maybe I will be bolder next time, and try the dip-pens and inks I used way back... Sign in to see full entry.

Blogit is being all funny... not ha-ha, either
I wrote my nearly 500 word story for the prompt up there in the Prompts blog, yes, wrote it as a comment... and when I 'entered comment' got the page saying it could not find that page... So, I went back to 'write' and to that blog, and then looked at the comments. Mine was there. Ha ha, Blogit, very funny... It is Easter morning and the day is cloudy but nice. There may be thunder and lightning later, but if not, I'm ready, and the little table-top bbq grill is ready for a cook-out with... Sign in to see full entry.

Success!
I have a housemate moving in this weekend. Young fella, Charlie's age, with much cheerful enthusiasm. He is here for at least this month, then we see how we both feel about a second and third. Of course, you can't tell from a single meeting and interview everything about a person. But the signs are favorable. Meanwhile, it is a lovely day, and the forecast encourages me to put the plants outside on the deck, and begin setting up my garden for the summer. We are all liking being out in the fresh... The Blood Moon has been called less dramatic names
Like, the Copper or Penny Moon. It's the color, of course. Which happens with every total lunar eclipse. On one of my journeys, I happened to park in a Park in southern New Mexico, near Carlsbad Caverns. In the middle of the night, I woke up, and saw outside my window the moon gone nearly all copper. What a treat to see, and sadly, I could not get any good photos of it. So, what's the big deal with this one? There isn't one. Yes, it's dramatic to see. Yes, it is part of a 'tetrad' which is four... Sign in to see full entry.
