What a wonderful resting place. Rose petals, I believe have been found to preserve. They also are a sign of love. Petals as Hansel and Gretel following life.

Over the years, my wife has 'laid to rest' several cats, but she always finds a nice box to place them in first. I won't mention your rose petal concept ( lovely and thoughtful as it is ) because it will just get her thinking about ( and missing ) her past cats, and I don't feel the need to upset her unnecessarily . . .

It was beautiful! From time immemorial we have bid farewell to all our loved ones with ceremonies large and small, and why shouldn't we?

It was a lovely ceremony I'm sure. We always feel sorry for the one has passed on, but of course we are feeling sorry for ourself, I keep trying to reason this when I lose someone.
