The Tree Falls... The Sound Happens Whether I Hear It or Not...

I have this notion that we are always living in the Kingdom, as Manboy expressed it in a recent comment, but that most of the time it seems most of us are blind and deaf mostly, and so unaware. I have my days of better or worse awareness of it, to be sure! And some times I perceive it intellectually, other times, intuitively, and then, when I write about it, those two ways of knowing come together for the purpose of communicating. The thing about science, is that it has the stricture that... Sign in to see full entry.

According to the Book of Nicodemus

one of the so-called Lost Books of the Bible, Jesus kept busy on His three days between the Crucifixion and the Resurrection. He went, according to Nicodemus, to the Gates of Hell, and opened them, announcing to all there that they did not have to be there anymore. Hell was a different place in those days, of course. The cultural image we have these days emerged from the Middle Ages, and was established by the pen of Dante Aligheiri in his Divine Comedy: The Inferno. But in the time of Jesus,... Finding Your Own Center

Hello! Here's the next part of centering, promised several days ago... The model of the human energy system that I am working with here is a simple one: seven centers, or chakras in a vertical line, ascending from the First, or Root Chakra, all the way up to the Seventh or Crown Chakra. There are other chakras than these seven, but we don't need them for this discussion. (There are other modesl of the chakra system, too, but again, we don't need to get complicated. The point is, they are all... Sign in to see full entry.

We are-- ergo: EGO!

I love my ego. I hope you will come to love yours, too. Poor Ego gets such a bad rap! Ego is your self-identity. It is how you see yourself. Self image. It is not a BAD THING! And if you get lost in it, or begin to believe and act as if it is the only aspect of you that matters, or it gets wounded and inflamed, then, yes, you have a problem! But we could not function in this world without some boundaries, some sense of who we are, apart from everyone else. To kill that sense of self, of... Sign in to see full entry.

Forgiveness is not about forgetting.

It is about letting go, and accepting that what is, is; what has been, has been. There are so many things in a lifetime that call for us to practice a little forgiveness-- sometimes a lot! Insults, slights and deliberate attempts to hurt us... Someone else's mistakes that we end up paying for... Accidents, failures, inconveniences, assaults... We are so programmed to balance scores, rather than to forgive debts. To take what we feel is due us rather than to give what someone else needs more. In... Sign in to see full entry.

Responsibility for and Context of Speaking Truth

Sannhet brought up the question in a comment in the previous post: Is it not our responsibility to share Truth when we have the opportunity to do so? My reply: Not necessarily. In fact, by the stricture of observing and honoring spiritual Free Will, perhaps spiritual Truths should not be spoken ever, until asked for, and until the right questions are asked. Our society does not encourage waiting to be asked, thinking to ask. In school, with one's parents, or one's spiritual teacher, the program... Sign in to see full entry.

An aside for feedback

Hello! There have been some great comments in this blog, and some of you have been in touch by email--But I'm wondering how many and who are actually finding these articles useful and interesting. So I'm asking and hoping that you will take just a moment if you've been following along to give me a smiley appropriate to your response. I'll keep going regardless of how many responses appear here-- But I have a notion of offering this sort of thing as a column or filler to a local paper, and it... Sign in to see full entry.

Speaking of altruism and caring...

Time to post this again: A friend sent me this: The Animal RescueSite is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "feed an animal in need" for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Here's... Sign in to see full entry.

Caring with care: Healing can be hazardous to your health!

Hello again...! More good news for healers... And that's just about all of us: altruism is built into our very nature, and those who most deny it are often those who have been punished for it, and decided it was not a good investment. Altruism vs Selfishness-- Spirit gives, Body takes... It really is not a definition of good and evil, or right and wrong. Those are cultural and contextual judgements and irrelevant in this discussion. Both are part of our nature, just one of those dichotomies we... Sign in to see full entry.

What Kinds of Gods Are There?

Hello, again-- more pieces of the Big Puzzle as it looks from my particular angle... If you've read the previous pieces, you know about grounding, and this would be a good time to practice... If you want to know why, read this without grounding, then ground, and read it again... Notice if there's a difference...) "God" is one of those words... Like Love, and Friendship it is so open to definition and interpretation that there is a different meaning, it seems, for every individual in the world.... Sign in to see full entry.
