Everthing in it was pink in color, or pink in nature... pink cherubs, pink clouds, pink everything... pink energy, pink warm fuzzies! She sincerely and completely believed in her perfect place, and sought to share it with others. Very nice lady, very wacky, in my opinion. Me--no pink for me! Except on flowers and skies, where it is just fine. My point is, we create our own heavens and hells, so I believe. Mine will be Tolkien's Middle-earth, very likely. Hmm... no, not entirely--but that will be... Sign in to see full entry.
Religion. It's like school. Some of us are still in preschool, some are in the various grades of school, and some have graduated. Some go on to the wide world of everything else, and some love school so much that though they see its limitations, they want to be part of it, to help others move up the grades. And there are some unaware there is an end to school, that learning can go on and on without all the aids of the classroom. And some are simply afraid of any other alternatives, as if school... Yellowrose recently posted on this topic, that the true opposite of Love is Fear. I'd like to add another dimension to that piece of truth. http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/yellowrose55/ (June 26) I've said before that Body and Soul exist and thrive by different sets of rules. This is a prime example of it. Fear is the basic force of the Body's drive for survival. Fear is the root of self-defense, of avoidance and evasion, of both fight and flight. Very useful, for the Body, is Fear! Love... Sign in to see full entry.
Javaret has some wonderfully eloquent ways of saying some of the things I have pounded out into this blog over the past several years. And he gets me thinking and rethinking some of those notions... This was a response to one of his, until I began to feel as if perhaps it would seem as if I were trying to hijack his blog. I do heartily recommend taking a look at his, too-- http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/Spirit_Global_Inspires/ Sinfulness --as defined by religious traditions--seems to me... We know now that some of our emotional responses and sensations occur in the presence of certain combinations of brain chemistry. That's how the physical body does emotion. This does support the notion that emotion is the medium through which our body's consciousness communicates to our thinking consciousness--how it tries to bring our attention to changes in our physical condition, or situations we need to respond to with a conscious choice. But I don't believe that's the whole story. It might... Sign in to see full entry.
No other creature on this planet uses the mind quite as much or the way we do. We question and observe, we know and believe, we imagine, plan, analyze, learn, realize, idealize, judge, strategize, invent, communicate, design, deceive, dream... We acquire, process, store and retrieve information... We use consciousness to make decisions, to exercise free will, to be self-aware... We maintain personalities and relationships; we perceive and manage time. We think about things. We think about... Sign in to see full entry.
What began as a reply to Naut's comment in my previous post just kept going and going and going... I believe in what I call God, though it is not what most people mean when they use the word. And I believe things happen that many people would call miracles... because they misunderstand the nature of God. If I just flat-out stated that I don't believe in miracles, I suspect many people would assume that I don't believe that things like instant healing can happen. I do believe it can happen, but... In the previous comments, Naut left a link to a post and discussion about miracles which I heartily recommend to anyone who may have missed it originally, in July of 2006. The post itself is quite interesting, and the discussion in the comments is well worth a perusal, too! Just because something seems impossible doesn't mean it is impossible. I define 'miracle' as an event that can only be accomplished by divine intervention... A 'miracle' is a proof of the existence and interest of God. For... Sign in to see full entry.
Dark Moon suggested a photo of the ocean, to be shared with all of Blogit... Not sure what the coastline is, but it's somewhere in Asia, on the way home from Singapore to Seattle Sign in to see full entry.
The next click will be the 4000th viewing of this blog... The very first post I ever posted on Blogit was the first item of this blog. It is the one I maintained, when I cut down to one only... It is the one I consider the most significant, the one in which I share what is most important, in my own estimation. There have been some great discussions on some of the posts, and others that never got a comment or a click... I have met quite a few of you here, that I consider soul-relatives, even...
