For TAPS, Lost In Thought...

A world in an instant created, lived, enjoyed... although cities rise and fall; storms and dogfights, campaigns and all; and as time passes little tots grow tall; Demands demanded never heard; Comments made, but noticed by me? Not a word! In traffic jams, in stagnant lines, while polishing the silver tines, sometimes even I must confess in church when sermons inspire less-- sometimes, I let tea-kettle moan-- While I, am happy quite alone in that world all my own. A return to Core Beliefs and Change

All choices are born from beliefs. But some beliefs that once were useful for survival's sake become obsolete as experience grows, as time passes. The old beliefs have to be seen in the light, given conscious attention. Their origins need to be appreciated, and the events and experiences that led to certain conclusions need to be looked at from the perspective of present time and knowledge. A conscious choice can be made then, whether to uphold or update the belief. It works for individuals, and... Sign in to see full entry.

Mariaki's request

This is one written several years ago, when my youngest was about to graduate from high school. Mortality was on my mind, and the seasons of life, as his passage from childhood also seemed to mark my own passage into elderhood. THE MAGIC HOUR a sonnet of art and age Stare not at the Sun, we’re oft reminded, But in the Magic Hour, as the Poets tell Eyes can gaze and be not blinded-- The day’s work’s done, for good or ill. The Farmer comes home from the field, The Baker from the baking; The... Sign in to see full entry.

HORIZONS: The Bent Road and The Straight

Edge of the cradle, soft blanket's hem, Faces known; Fingers and toes, all things your own... End of the street you live on; Block by block the Neighborhood; Trails to town lead back to home; Making independent trips maps of the mind expand: sudden epiphanies of spatial relationships... Destinations round Earth's curves: Country drives, and holidays, Expeditions to the City-- The Bent Road swerves you follow as you can going ever on and on, 'til it devours it's own tail at your front garden gate... Hazards of Being a Human Sieve: spiritual cleansing

Troosha pointed out in a comment over in Loosely Speaking that in this season of campaigns, we each need to be human sieves, filtering out the bullshit as best we can from all that's thrown at us by those who ardently, sincerely want us to vote their way. In terms of how the personal energy space is affected by this barrage of--well, to be nice, let's just call it Invasive Stuff--we are deluged with Stuff that clots, flavors, and obstructs the flow of our own vital personal feeling, knowing,... Taking the train-of-thought into the past

I have been reviewing the first posts I wrote when I arrived at Blogit in the very tail end of 2004. I came to share some of the things I've come to understand, things I have thought worth sharing, that might be useful to other explorers in the same general regions of the Universe where I am puttering around. I realize that over the course of this blog, and my others, I have revealed not only what I believe, but a good part of who I am. Probably more than I know. But for the most part, it is the... This was my first blog post ever...

If you're disappointed in God it could be your expectations are unrealistic...maybe it's because you don't have a realistic notion of what God is, and what you can reasonably expect. Maybe God doesn't do the kind of stuff you've been led to expect God does. Maybe the role of God in the Universe isn't what you've been taught. Maybe it is entirely different from the model of God which you were told was not a model, but a Reality... As if we can know! If God is real, and absolute, and perfectly... Isn't it amusing that God chooses to express Itself in this way?

That's one of the more useful mantras I 've got to remind myself to use more often. It's my belief that everything exists on multiple levels or planes of reality, and that one of these levels--or a certain level of all of them--is, in fact, God: that everything is, at some level, an expression of the Divine. Even shadows spring from light, or in this discussion, Light. The shadows we perceive are the effect of obstructions between our selves and Light. Some are cherished truths that are, in...
