The first title that came to mind with this photo was 'River To Nowhere,' but I have probably used that title somewhere along the way. I will miss all of the beautiful sunsets we had in the UP, so it's a good thing that I have over 1200 of them in my files! Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

A Beautiful Superior Sunset
I love taking photos with reflections! This was a rare evening when this small inlet was quiet. You can see the warning light in the distance and the moon's reflection that is hung in the beautiful colors of the sky. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

Superior Icy Wave
The power of waves has long fascinated me. When we first came to Florida, my son and I would 'ride the waves' of the Atlantic near Jensen Beach like a cork for hours. We would go offshore about 125 feet and enjoy incoming waves' steady rise and fall. Of course, there was that one time I had a... Sign in to see full entry.

Storm Rolling South
As I recall, we were on the northeast corner of the Mighty Mac, looking south as a massive thunderstorm was rolling toward the Lower Penninsula. For perspective, the area in the middle of the two arch structures is roughly 2.75 miles from where we were standing. At that point, it is 225 feet from... Sign in to see full entry.

Blue Heron
This was taken at the Dollarville Flood Zone, just west of Newberry. The herons were nesting, meaning one would sit on the nest, and the other would bring back food to the sitting mate. I think this is the male due to his brighter colors. They are big birds and didn't seem to mind us watching him.... Sign in to see full entry.

Who's There?
It was always incredible that I could walk through the forest and see so many creatures that so often would be gone long before you ever even sensed they were around. This appears to be a momma and her yearling twins. Chances are good that she is already carrying a new baby and will soon dump the... Sign in to see full entry.

Ready For Take Off!
This relatively young female (~ four years old) was not used to having us wander below her tree stand, and I caught this shot just as she pushed off. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

Run Away! Run Away!
We were traveling down a slippery snowy back road and came across this small herd of deer standing in the middle of the road. They stood still until I opened the door to get this photo. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

Kitch-iti-kipi
An unusual look at the egress of Kitch-iti-kipi or "Mirror of Heaven,' the huge spring-fed 'lake' in the UP near Manistique. Most shots you see of this body of water are of the churning bottom of its green waters. This is the channel that leads to the Indian Lake. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

Foxy Lady!
I began to see these two foxes in the winter of 2018/19 with Lisa with me. She was incredulous that they weren't afraid of us, but as you can see, they just carried on as if we were never there. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.
