This was a hard shot to get. Eagles with young aren't real easy to close to long enough to get a good shot. I think I took over 100 shots, and this is one of the best ones. One of the beautiful things about the UP was the frequency we would see the 'Northrn Lights.' It had to do with the humidity that was in the air and the angle of the sun. This was an unusual moment. We were walking with the dogs when this young cow began to 'talk' with the dogs, Buster in particular. He was yapping at her, and she was 'mooing' at him. I happened to find several eagles 'fishing' at a small bay along Lake Superior one three-hour day, and I got over 500 photos of them in action. This particular bird was picking off fish with barely a splash. I suspect it was taking the fish back to its nest for its spouse or its young. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

When Judy worked as a traveling nurse, we spent six months living on the southeast corner of the Miami International Airport in 2012.
