An open field, sixteen inches of snow, pines in the distance, and a beautiful sun about to take its nap. Just another winter evening in the Upper Peninsula. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

Leave Me Alone!
This young female had found some fish 'offal' or guts but was having a showdown with another eagle. Surprisingly, she held the intruding eagle back, and she was able to eat her prize. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.
Peregrine Falcon in Flight
The Peregrine falcon is a common bird of prey in most of the US. Many cities have imported them for 'pigeon patrol.' I remember when they first brought them into Grand Rapids, Michigan. I walked into Butterworth Hospital in downtown GR when I heard a distinctive 'thud' noise. One of the falcons had... Sign in to see full entry.

Baby Eagle Feeding Time
This was a hard shot to get. Eagles with young aren't real easy to close to long enough to get a good shot. I think I took over 100 shots, and this is one of the best ones. The adult eagle closest to you is Mama. Daddy is in the background. They took turns feeding the babies. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

A Storm At the North End of the 'Mighty Mac'
This was sent to me by a friend. It was taken yesterday afternoon. The UP got over 18" of snow before the storm blew out. For reference, this was taken on the northwest corner of the "Mighty Mac." If you head to the right, you are going south. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

Northern Lights In The Fall
One of the beautiful things about the UP was the frequency we would see the 'Northrn Lights.' It had to do with the humidity that was in the air and the angle of the sun. We almost always had amazing sunsets and the colors of the 'lights' could take your breath away. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

Moose Cow
This was an unusual moment. We were walking with the dogs when this young cow began to 'talk' with the dogs, Buster in particular. He was yapping at her, and she was 'mooing' at him. She didn't even acknowledge that we were less than fifty feet from her. That was the weird part of the situation. She... Sign in to see full entry.

Dive Bomber
I happened to find several eagles 'fishing' at a small bay along Lake Superior one three-hour day, and I got over 500 photos of them in action. This particular bird was picking off fish with barely a splash. I suspect it was taking the fish back to its nest for its spouse or its young. Check it out! Sign in to see full entry.

Twelve Floors Up In Miami
When Judy worked as a traveling nurse, we spent six months living on the southeast corner of the Miami International Airport in 2012. Besides some fantastic lightning shows, watching the planes come in and out of the airport was always fun. In the small river you see here, we often saw small sharks... Sign in to see full entry.

Just Another Amazing Sunset
One of the things I will miss about the Upper Peninsula will be all of the fantastic sunsets. Nearly every night was a show of its own. As in show-biz, some shows were better than others. Like this one. Check it out. Sign in to see full entry.
