This blizzard shot was caught at a lighthouse west of Munising, Michigan. That area has a dozen different lighthouses, and wouldn't ya know it, I can't remember the name of it right now. A huge storm blew in off Mama Superior, and she was mad! Sign in to see full entry.

The Wildlife Refuge set up in Seney is now a "national" thing, but it was originally set up by the Michigan DNR to help repopulate various bird species. I had settled down to wait for a pack of wolves I had seen come through a meadow forty to fifty yards away when I heard a noise coming from my right. This is a Northern Harrier, a medium-sized hawk that measures about 18" tall. These are native to Canada and the northern tiers of the US. The day I caught it in flight, he was like Elmer Fudd of Bugs Bunny fame... he was "wabbit hunting!" Sign in to see full entry.
