This blizzard shot was caught at a lighthouse west of Munising, Michigan. That area has a dozen different lighthouses, and wouldn't ya know it, I can't remember the name of it right now. A huge storm blew in off Mama Superior, and she was mad! Sign in to see full entry.

Tiny Purple Flowers
I don't know the name of these tiny flowers, but they are carpeting our backyard right now. I love taking photos of flowers, and I had to get down on my belly to get this shot. These are about a quarter-inch in size! Sign in to see full entry.

I've Got A Name
Besides a pretty picture, you're going to get a bit of personal history today. I've long been a fan of Jim Croce, a singer who died way too soon, just as he was starting to break out huge in 1973. Whose There?
I had settled down to wait for a pack of wolves I had seen come through a meadow forty to fifty yards away when I heard a noise coming from my right. I turned slowly and saw this young (maybe two years old?) deer checking on me. The wolf pack didn't show up that day, but I did get a number of shots... Sign in to see full entry.

Northern Harrier in Flight
This is a Northern Harrier, a medium-sized hawk that measures about 18" tall. These are native to Canada and the northern tiers of the US. The day I caught it in flight, he was like Elmer Fudd of Bugs Bunny fame... he was "wabbit hunting!" Sign in to see full entry.

Ice Island
The shores of Lake Superior are dotted with little slag islands where the shore has slowly eroded over the millennia. This one is about 100 feet into the lake but has managed to keep a small tree growing on it. Sign in to see full entry.
