Wagner Falls - Blurred

This is Wagner Falls, one of my favorite falls in the Upper Peninsula. I was demonstrating to my then girlfriend (and now wife!) what happens if I prolong the time the shutter stays open by even a tenth of a second. Since the only thing moving is the water, it blurs its motion, leaving everything... Sign in to see full entry.

Miners Falls in the Late Spring

In the summer, this set of falls is much smaller, but as the snow melts, the amount of water coming over the mountain is much increased. This was in mid-April 2021. Sign in to see full entry.

A Sandy Swimming Pool along Lake Superior

I found this pool along Lake Superior. I've seen something like this only once or twice before. Sign in to see full entry.

Gazing Across The Shallows

This little light is a warning to ships that the water is too shallow to cross. Maritime law tells them to stay at least 100 yards beyond the beacon light. Sign in to see full entry.

Along the Rugged Superior Shoreline

This was taken about ten miles to the west of Munising in a rarely used area. It took about an hour to get to this point, but it was well worth it. If you look carefully in the upper center, you can see a freighter chugging from west to east, loaded with iron or copper ore. Sign in to see full entry.
