Husband is off to Portland for a fencing tournament this weekend--thinking I might go along, and head out to the coast, see if the sea lions are still basking on the Astoria piers... Check out the beach at Lincoln City and see if I can interest a few touristy shops in my cards of the Northwest... Or...

There I was, roaming around the gamescape, when suddenly... CRACK! a flash of blue, a smell of singed electronics... toasted power supply unit with a side of fried motherboard... Can anyone tell me what this petty little blossoming tree is?
They are a distinctly purpler pink than the cherry blossoms, and quite a different shaped flower, too. They are blooming all around Maryland, and I saw a lot of them in New York, as well. Some are sprouting leaves that look like wide hearts. Here are some lovely new maple leaves--not sure what...
