Orakei Korako

It is one of the best of New Zealand's geothermal parks, nestled in the hills near Lake Taupo. This first group of photos focuses on the great variety of ferns that grow in that steamy, warm landscape. https://flic.kr/ps/rhS1C We visited on a chilly, rainy afternoon which, for photography can be a... Bows and flows of angel-hair...

I found some photos from one of our trips to Colorado Springs, taking Charlie to school. This was one massive storm system that we watched all afternoon, from Grand Junction near the Utah border on I-70, all the way to the Springs. It was a rather nice cloud at first, peeking over the wonderful... Sign in to see full entry.

A trip to the zoo

Yesterday I went to the Cheyenne Mountain Z oo with a friend I have known since high school. It was a bit chilly, and neither of us is good for too many walking miles, especially up and down hills, but we spent a good several hours there, all the same. https://www.flickr.com/photos/therovingeye/ Sign in to see full entry.

Some years ago, I took all the Continuing Education classes offered by Richard Hayward, called British Footpaths, driving 100 miles each way once a week for several weeks. He was charming and poetic, and there were slideshows of his photos... Sign in to see full entry.

Back to Manhattan

... at least briefly. I bring you the Pythian Temple on Manhattan's Upper West Side, an art deco masterpiece of Charles Lamb, built in 1928. The Knights don't live there anymore. Note the Women's Clinic on the first floor with the signage that tells you all about it. https://flic.kr/s/aHsjy3c1yD Sign in to see full entry.

Singapore by double-decker bus

Oliver and Marika took me on a double-decker bus tour of the city, and these are some of the views. https://www.flickr.com/photos/therovingeye/ Later, we will have the Duck Tour... Viet Nam War era amphibious watercraft, repurposed, are a whole different kind of fun! Sign in to see full entry.

More Singapore...

A few museum pieces, some foods and a bit of shopping... Singapore is a city of vast extremes of life style, from totally down-home ethnic to high chic. https://www.flickr.com/photos/therovingeye/ My favorite shopping experience was Mustafa's--I still have several lovely pieces of fabric and a... A new adventure begins...!

Today, looking through discs and suchlike, I found one holding the photos I took some years ago during my month in Singapore. I edited and posted a batch of shots from Sentosa Island, where Singaporeans go for a day of picnic and beach and swimming with pink dolphins and the most fantastic aquarium!...
