It's all happening at the zoo...
We spent all day--9 hours! at the National Zoo in Washington, DC. It was hot and sunny, and not as sweaty as it might be... The animals, of course, were cool... (I posted my rant in Loosely Speaking about the part of zoo-going that is not so cool...) So... where is the first place you go at the zoo?...

Too tired...
The day was hot, but not where we were--Charlie, the Young Lads and I picked up the other local Nana (Zoe's other grandma isn't really theirs, but on the other hand, there is no one more everyone's grandma than Nana!) and we drove out to the edge of the Chesapeake Bay. In the deep places of the earth...
About 2 hours from Washington, DC there are at least two cavern systems to visit. We went to Luray Caverns this time. (The other is Skyline Caverns, and also fascinating and beautiful.) The tour guides are local lads and lasses, and it is a bit alarming from an elocution point-of-view to consider...

Fireworks on a plane
There is a tiny little hole at the base of the window of a jet, which I assume has something to do with pressure changes within the double-pane. When up at the high, cold cruising altitudes, sometimes frost forms between the windows, especially near the hole....and when the setting sunlight stikes...
