A little money from elsewhere, but mostly our military!

As the aid pours into the tsunami-stricken areas of Asia and some in Africa I can’t help but be proud of the way our country has responded to the disaster. Money is pouring in from both government and private sources at an astounding rate. Other countries are doing their share also, but not to the... Sign in to see full entry.

It's the money they need, not a percentage of GDP!

Several news organizations, pundits, and people on this site have pointed out how much other countries give as a percentage of GDP or GNI or what have you in aid for foreign countries. I take exception to comparisons based purely on numbers that don’t mean much for the people in need. You can’t... Sign in to see full entry.

I like to read the everyday happenings of people!!

I have seen a few comments on several of my writing sites about some bloggers not liking to read the everyday, mundane details of our lives. Of course, they are entitled to that opinion, but I love to read about everyone. I try to read as many as possible during the course of my busy day. I can’t... Sign in to see full entry.

Hard work and desire will do it everytime

I am amazed by what my wife has accomplished in a short time at her job. She works very hard and has a desire to do well. That has made her immediate managers and even the top management in her company reward her with a very important job. She goes to work each day and does not complain or whine.... Why are they complaining?

We have been treated by the media with several of our Congressmen and Senators over the past week complaining about Iraq and Donald Rumsfeld. They have been on the talk shows and such acting like none of this was their doing. The statements they have made are ludicrous and they must think we are... Sign in to see full entry.

It may not be about the money!

Yes, that’s correct. I had a mini-crisis with my wife over money the past few days and then I read an article on the Internet about money being a main problem in a lot of couples splitting. I can see where that might be true, but I think there is something else involved here. While money is involved... Sign in to see full entry.

Social security; Iraq elections; lazy people!

This will be a few lines on some things on my mind as of late. I will give my views on the deal. This is what I think. I think we are crazy on this Social Security thing. We can’t tell what is right. We can’t tell if the numbers add up. Who do you believe on the deal? Many “experts” are moaning... Sign in to see full entry.

I don't think we are all idiotic; religiouscrazed, brainwashed idealouges!

Since the election we conservatives have been called all of the above and much more. I don’t think any of it is a fair assessment and I don’t think most of us conservatives fit the mold. I don’t even go to church. So I am not a crazed religious person, but I live right and halfway moral in a general... Sign in to see full entry.

I hope this is the end of this!

I am going to write this last bit on my “real” soldier piece and I’d like for this to be the end of it. I attacked the few soldiers who are whiners and complainers in our war in Iraq. I don’t think there is a place for them in this fight. They bring morale down and imperil other solider’s who are... Sign in to see full entry.

That brought some comments!

I obviously got a rise out of many people with my post about some soldiers not being “real” soldiers. At times some of our soldiers have refused to do their duty and others have questioned military authority. These things are what brought my piece to the fore. I have set off a firestorm of...
