Yahoo Boohoo!
Yesterday was a waste of time, thanks to Yahoo. My buddy in the UK sent me an invitation to join him on Yahoo Messenger so we could talk via the computer. I’m already on MSN Messenger so I didn’t envisage any problems loading Yahoo as I’d already joined in order to vote on the Blogit writing review....

When I feel like shit, I tend to Ponder. Today I'm Pondering
That’ll be McNab’s official dictionary definition: Ponder – to skim lightly across the surface of a mucky puddle without getting dirty or stirring up any controversy / from the Greek for puddle and the Anglo Saxon ‘er’ meaning ‘ don’t rock the controversial boat or you’ll fall into the muck.’ At one...

Runaway & Nanny Dogs??
For the second time this week, there is a dog running along the highway. Being of a sensitive nature, I pray it doesn’t get run down – at least not in front of the house, as I know who will have to clean up the guts. "This is the season for dogs to run away," Ell said. "It is?" I asked innocently....

Of Mice and Geese
I was going to call this blog ‘ In the Wet’ but decided that Nevil Shute’s heirs might disapprove. It would, however, describe Canada in springtime. Anthony1’s description would fit perfectly as well. This is a country of extremes. Yesterday I was driving back from the last curling game (yippee)...

Devious Bitch
How the hell was I supposed to know? When I was a youngster, I took shorthand and typing courses when I wasn’t sneaking up to Eddie’s billiard hall. Later on in life I took computing; creative writing (often, and to no avail), gliding, shooting, archery and various other esoteric pastimes which are...

News Flash.....News Flash.....News Flash
Spring has definitely arrived. How do I know? We just watched the Ice-Breaker crunch its way up the St. Lawrence. The cargo ships will be sailing on the river next week. The rhythm continues – for some of us. Have a wonderful holiday. I'm off to gambol in the daffodils - metaphorically, that is.

The Symbolism of Easter eggs confuses me
Can someone explain the significance of the Easter egg to me, please? Since I was a tiny- tot in Britain, I’ve been led to believe that the egg represents the boulder which was rolled away from Christ’s tomb. To this end, we used to climb up the nearest bing or hill and roll the hard-boiled egg down...

F1 Voyager?
If you still pop in now and again Voyager, you will have noticed how ironic it is after our discussion, that David Coulthard, on probably his final year, is beating your favourite German to the finishing post. What a swan song. While watching the race on Sunday I couldn’t help but get really annoyed...

Anthony1/Wiley's comment on my last post...
…started me thinking of the Scotland I lived in when I was a boy. Anthony was asking me to remember the green hills of Scotland and write about them. During the 40’s there were no green hills. There were bings (slag heaps) of spent shale and coal. The spent shale was shale which had been cooked and...

March Malaise
A Red-Winged Blackbird has arrived and is sitting on the back-deck thermometer, which it is frantically pecking in an attempt to get the needle above Minus 8. Hold on! It has stopped and is looking upwards. It is calling to a flight of Canada geese which are returning from their vacation. Could it...
