Ooops, sorry Pat, but I didn't notice your comment until now.  Chapter one?  Mmm, that maybe a good idea.  Thank you.

Now here's a short story that's meant for your
book of short stories.  Anyone who buys books can identify with it.  Editors and booksellers will (if they have the sense god gave a goose) pay attention to it. Make it Chapter 1....  :)

Sigh!  Ell always comes through on top, jacenta.  The man in this relationship never wins - seemingly that's because women are multi-taskers and men are DUH!

johnmcnab...
Again, I found your post amusing, definitely in a positive way.  Ell comes through again.   Cute.

BrightIrish
It was my pleasure, BrightIrish.  I do hope you are well now.  LOL at the fact that you have duplicates of movies like I have duplicates of books.

Johnmcnab

Hi .. I enjoyed this story and reading about your adventure in the book store. I've never returned a book but re- ordering the same movie is a constant with me and it can be sooooooooo frustrating. I think Ell's idea would work nicely for me to remember the movie titles. If this helps > I have rented movies that are sitting on my movie shelf at home.PostSmile!

John .. I also want to thank you for the very nice comments you left on my blog about my health.  It made me feel good that you enjoy reading my blog and I'm sure that you know the feeling is mutual. Thank You!

BlackPearl1
Thank you BlackPearl1.  Ell really is amazing, as for being a gem....mmmm...perhaps a diamond in the rough?   Don't tell her I said that.  LOL at your friend's laziness.

johnmcnab,

What a funny story.  It's funny that I would probably have not given much thought to returning the book, but I guess people feel differently about different stuff.  Returning an unused book wouldn't bother me.

Now, take a curling iron back to the store???? That's really "trifling".  I have a friend from college to take a used curling iron back to K-Mart for a refund (without the receipt, of course), and she'd bought the thing at WalMart, saying she didn't feel like driving over there.  Just imagine if you had someone like that in your life... Your wife sounds like a gem.  :)

Blanche
You got it in one, Blanche.  Make that an acute attack.

JohnMcNab, a severe attack of gravity? As in, falling down?

Original
I don't have much trouble with sales clerks, Original.  Most of the time they are too busy trying to understand my accent to get pissed off at me.

Blanche
With a ditz, Blanche, my eyes would just glaze over and I would have a severe attack of gravity.

Lucky you....a salesclerk who did not yell at you!

JohnMcNab, live dangerously, take the book back.

I've always been like that, too.  I cannot return things, especially books, for fear of offending the clerk.  I did get a stern lecture once when I returned an Anne Rice book (within hours) because I just could not get into it.  But in view of current events, I am getting over it and all those kinds of social squeamisheness, life is just too damned short.

And, yes, Ell is a smart woman, perfect for you, I'm sure.  You wouldn't last 30 seconds with a ditz.

Azur
It seems to happen all the time, Azur.  As for being surrounded by very clever women, I could say that they seem clever because I am dumb, but as you are one of the very clever women, you would see through that in a second.

I had to take a book back recently.  It must happen all the time.
