Blanche
I'm blaming the weather and our visitor for preventing me from writing.  It is as good an excuse as any, Blanche.  Strangely enough, there is a post on its way within a few minutes.  I really have been very busy, but my slave-driver ....er.... Ell, is working in Ottawa today so I had the chance to write.  Would you believe her old company from which she retired a few years back phoned her up looking for help.  They think she can figure out a board for them.   Hmm!  My old firm never phones ME up looking for help.  Thank you very much for the comment, Blanche.

JohnMcnab, I wrote to Ginnie and she's doing fine
You seem to be fading from here, you haven't posted in 2 weeks.  Nooooooo! Don't go!

I miss ginnie a lot as well, Blanche.   I wish she'd hurry up and get the book published and return to real life - Blogit.  The birds are still visiting - well at least one of the pigeons is.  As for writing?  I'm not sure at the moment, but I don't really think I could stop unless I was forced to.

JohnMcNab, what's happening?
Are the birds still visiting you?  And I am so jealous that Ginnieb dropped in and is doing real writng.  You two had better not become too jaded, and drop out. I've already lost MedusaNextDoor.  I am feeling Ginnie's absense most keenly. Novel, schmovel.  (You know I'm just kidding).  John, I wonder what it is about getting your "usual" coffee that sets off your alarms.  Hmm.

ginnie

Congratulations ginnie.  The fact that you have the novel written and being read by an author is awesome.  I think you did the right thing by stopping posting on Blogit so that you could spend all your writing time on your novel.  I'm so chuffed for you.

I've been so busy with visitors and doing all the summery things that need doing before winter descends again, that I'm exhausted.   I do keep taking notes and entering headlines to remind myself of the things I must write, but I'm just not with it just now.   Perhaps in winter.

I'll have to run along Highway 2,and shout out to the world that I know ginnie and she is writing a novel........Yeeeeeeeaaaaaahhh!!!!

Hey Mac!
Don't you be gittin jaded!  You HAVE to write!!!!  You are bloody good and I love reading your stuff!  I have been working on my novel...haha...sounds funny to call it that...and I'm at the stage now where I am having an author beginning editing it...although Steve has been my in-house editor for a while!  He's a much better writer than I am but doesn't have the time to sit still to produce anything!  Retirement is grand!  Haha!  No giving up there Mac...a break is good....but only short ones!!    Hope all's well with you and your family!!    (Just had to use that guy!)

Hiya Ginnie
Thank you very much for your compliment.  You have boosted my ego a lot.  Personally, I'm not overly fond of this post, but then I'm feeling jaundiced with writing and Blogit.  Perhaps, like yourself, I need a writing vacation.  Or perhaps I just need to get my finger out of my ass.  Cheers, Ginnie

Hiya Mac!
Oh..I've missed you!!  Just finished reading the morning paper and thought I'd take a quick peak at blogit.  If this story had been in the paper I would have cut it out!!  How I love your writing...I was (and still am) smiling all the way through it.  I love the way you take the little occurrences in life and make them so funny....and sweet.  Hope your summer is going well!

Blanche
It was hilarious, Blanche.  We notice that there is only one pigeon left now.  The other one must have bitten the dust, and the remaining one is a bit more suspicious than it was before.  At first, both of them sat on our porch and bedroom window ledge - I think we were surrogate grandparents.  The pigeon landed on our driveway tonight and began cooing loudly.  I think it had something to do with the pigeon's female teenage rescuer and the five young men jostling for recognition.  That is hilarious as well, but I wish they would stop 'conversing' so loudly.  It gets quite embarrassing.

TAPS
The one I pretended to catch was almost mouth watering on a spit, Taps.

JohnMcNab,

You have had had birds on the brain!  A bird in the gym (and her father, how mortifying for that guy, but hysterically funny for you), birds in the pool, and birds in the neighbors' garage.  I'm sure that a hungry pigeon could learn to do anything for food, including push a garage door opener. It's amazing how resourceful animals (and humans) can be when there's food involved.

It sounds like you and Ell had a good giggle over the two girls and their bird rescruing adventures!

Johnmcnab, HAHAHA.   I never pretended that I'd caught one, I just whined a lot.   LOL

I spent many a day trying to catch birds in exactly the same way, Taps.  Eventually, when I discovered there was no such thing as a 'bird brain,' I had to pretend I'd caught one.

Johnmcnab, This reminds me when I was a kid and spent a whole afternoon one day with a box, a stick, some string and breadcrumbs, trying to catch me a bird for a pet.

Azur
Thank you Azur.  The account of the gym was the only part I liked.  I think I'm suffering from rusty brain.

You have diverse themes in your post
I like your account of the gym. Get the pigeons to do the workout so the guy can do the watching

Whacky
I'll bet the birds got the fright of their lives, being jumped on from above.  We'll let you know how the door openers work, Whacky.  All the pigeons will have to take lessons on button pecking.

Kinda looks like the birds got what was coming to them for stealing

the dog's food. Garage door openers on the bird's leg? Let me know if that works.
