Church Attendance

The trend in Europe seems to be a drastic decline in church attendance and a drastic decline in the numbers of people who claim to believe in a supreme being. In our country, although church-going seems to be still substantial, I often wonder how many people actually believe in a divine being and... Sign in to see full entry.

Church of the Perpetual Brunch

Years ago, a group of our friends, my wife, and I started a "Church of the Perpetual Brunch." It was satiric in nature, but we did manage to feed our spirits as well as our stomachs. We started out by meeting one Sunday a month in one of our homes, the host being responsible for preparing and... Sign in to see full entry.

A Novel Idea for a Church: One That Serves

our spiritual aspects rather than serving itself, as most churches seem to do. Wouldn't it be great for a church to actually point us toward real spiritual growth, rather than parroting the same old twisted mythologies, without even understanding the underlying concepts in those mythologies?... Drive-In Church

Most youngsters on here, those under 30 or so, may not remember Drive-In Movies. Churches could do that Drive-In concept quite well. The minister and choir could be on a stage in front and each car would have a speaker to put into the side window to hear the sermon, choir, etc. When it comes time... Sign in to see full entry.

Agnostic Services

For those who don't know what divinity is like would be interesting; one of their hymns could be, Absent, a late 19th Century song; they could worship round-table, just spin the wheel to pick a god for that week's service; Pot Luck Dinners would include Pot-Luck gods to say grace to, as well as the... Church of the Madison Avenue Moguls

Churches these days are hurting for money, particularly the small ones who lose money to the mega-churches and TV Churches. Why not have these small churches blend a bit of advertising in with their spirituality? Allow the local merchants to rent out space in the church to place their ads, different... Vagrant Church-Goers

How about becoming a migratory worshipper? Sure, join a church, but take one or two weeks each month to visit a church other than your own, even the church or temple of a religion other than your own to see how others worship the Being Who is undoubtedly the same Divine Being you worship in your own... Nudist Church

Near Norfolk, about an hour and a quarter drive, there is a Nudist Camp called White Tail Park. They have Nude Church Services each Sunday Morning. Now that is getting back to God the way you first entered this Earth. If you go, their services are at 10 am every Sunday. Link: White Tail Park Sign in to see full entry.

Church of Silence

This church would be one in which people gathered to be together to worship Deity, but nothing would be said by anyone during the entire service. All would contemplate, meditate, and dwell on their god, their lives, and their behavior as creatures within creation. After the service, congregants... Sign in to see full entry.

Spring Church Services . . . . .

This is the time for parishoners to bring to church those tools, seed packets and garden/yard design plans they would like their god to bless to ensure a fruitful spring. Such a "blessing service" would help get people in the mood for spring work and strngthen in their minds that bonds between human... Sign in to see full entry.
