stated something most interesting: What is important is not so much the purpose of a church or a pastor, but what is our purpose. Now that's the billion dollar question! But, it is the foundational question that must be answered before we can even begin to understand theology.

What does a congregation seek?
What kind of "atmosphere" does a chuch seek? The building, the dress of those attending, and the demeanor of the pastor all add to that "atmosphere." Should it be somber, joyfull, studiously serious, monotonous, or what? Note the difference between an evangelical Black Church and a traditional...

Pastor Pedigrees
Is it important for a church to hire a college-educated pastor? What if God calls someone who has little schooling, will the lack of education keep him from being hired by a church? Are there any churches that use pastors without college educations?

Churches need Pastors
Much more important than a church building is the person who assumes leadership of the congregation. Some questions come immediately to mind: What persnal characteristics are required of a good pastor/minister/rabbi/priest/priestess/etc.? How does one serve the congregation and God at the same time....
