Thanks! That shows how little I really do know about covens! Seriously, both spiritually and mundanely I have always been a solitare. Get more than 4 people together with me and I feel as if I am in Times Square on New Year's Eve!

Archie --
It wasn't a question! (Except for asking whether you, personally, had been part of a traditional Wiccan coven, which you answered.) That is how many covens are run.

Sorry
I have little experience with groups of Pagans, other than "hanging out" at gatherings, and as an occasional guest at a coven function. So I cannot answer your question. What you write, makes sense, though. Perhaps other readers of your comment will answer.

Archie -- You said that you're a solitary Wiccan. Do you have any experience with a Wiccan coven? In many of these groups, minsterial duties are divided between two people, and I don't mean there's a Priest and a Priestess. I mean that, regardless of gender, one person handles the counseling and personal spiritual guidance, while the other handles the rituals and ritual/magickal training. Sometimes there is a male and a female for the rituals and another person for the counseling.
This format acknowledges that an excellent Priest/ess may not be a good counselor, and an excellent counselor might not be a good ritual leader.
