Burned!

I was getting ready for work this morning, fixing breakfast, and I picked up a bowl of hot vegetable soup to carry it to the table. It splashed. Boiling broth all over my hands. Two seriously burned fingers (as in, still red and swollen four hours later) and one rather painful palm. And I do a lot... Sign in to see full entry.

Sunday --- a Day of Celebration

Well, I didn't get anything done at home on Sunday, either. But it's okay. First off, the stuff to do at home is not going anywhere. It will still be there tonight when I get home. I can do it tonight. Second, it was Easter, and it was the day that my family had decided to get together and celebrate... Sign in to see full entry.

I Am a Failure and My Ex Is (Apparently) a Twit

I have gotten nothing done today. I was so tired that I didn't even get out of bed until about an hour before we had to be at church for the egg hunt. We came straight home (I got Easter stuff yesterday afternoon, when work let out early!) and I just crashed. I just have absolutely no energy. I feel... Sign in to see full entry.

Looking Forward to Easter

Well, the duet last night went quite well, I think. And the living re-enactment of da Vinci's Last Supper was really incredible. Now I am looking forward to the weekend. I have a lot to do, but it's all possible. It'll take planning and careful scheduling, but it's doable. I'm taking the children to... Sign in to see full entry.

Growing Up

My boys are growing up. Day by day, they are a little taller, a little more mature, a little more "growny." (That's a Southernism. It's hard to define.) My oldest is growing out of all his clothes. His jeans are almost too short, and his shoes are too small. His suit doesn't fit anymore. My youngest... Sign in to see full entry.

Consumed by Stuff

My chiropractor says that the lethargy and ennui this weekend were a normal effect of the trauma of the accident. He says that they will wear off as I resume normal activity, and that I am to make certain that I get at least eight full hours of sleep each night for the next several weeks. Sleep, of... A "Wasted" Day

I didn't do much of anything productive today. Well, at least, not any of the things that really need to be done. I went to bed late last night, so was tired all day. I got up just before 8 to see the kids off, then I read a book and ate while I waited for a friend to come practise a duet we are... Sign in to see full entry.

Not a Very Productive Day

I was so tired and sore that I didn't get much done. It was rather disappointing. Perhaps tomorrow will go better. On the up-side, my vegetable soup was lovely, only I made enough for about 20 people. So I'm going to hold off on the ratatouille for a few days, until I've eaten up this simple veggie... Today Was Quite a Day

I was supposed to go to a meeting of a professional networking group that I have just joined through my office, but I was rear-ended on the way there. (See Oddments for details.) I was planning to stay on my Lemonade Diet for another two weeks, but my body said, "Nope! This is it. No more." So I... Sign in to see full entry.

A Wonderful Day

It's a beautiful, spring day here in Memphis, and we have spent most of the morning outside raking leaves and picking up sticks. The kids played in their sandbox while I cleaned up their breakfast dishes --- I made pancakes. There are an awful lot of leaves! We've already filled six construction... Sign in to see full entry.
