I am starting now to read this book, a grim reaper's view apparently of life in WWII Germany and the story of a little girl named Liesel whose younger brother died on the train from their home to another town where their mother was taking them to a foster home. I'll try to get over there on Sunday...

I've come to recognize son Joe's "I'll try" phrase as code for "not gonna make it." There's still the baseboards and door trim in the bathroom that need to be replaced, a couple bits of drywall in the basement he'd ripped out.
