HOW DO WE DEAL WITH THIS? DO YOU BELIEVE IT IS THE GOVERNMENT'S FAULT?

THE PLIGHT OF OUR CHILDREN - Last year in the United States, 36 percent of young adults between the ages of 18 to 31 were residing in their parents’ home. This represents the highest percentage in forty years, Pew Research Center reports. A record total of almost 22 million “Millennial” Americans were living at home with one or both parents in 2012. That represents over a 15% increase from 2007. This includes college students living in dormitories during the academic year and at home in “off... Sign in to see full entry.

IT IS A WAY OF LIFE

IT IS A WAY OF LIFE You dear people say the nicest things about George and me. We are by no means the only people bringing joy and love to the residents in nursing homes, drug rehabs, jails or wherever love is needed. It is just that we know our side of the situations. I think there are so many people who would be surprised if they had any idea of how many people who are helped daily by Christians. These may or may not be Christians themselves, they may or may not even know a Christian. It is... Sign in to see full entry.

TOMORROW A SPECIAL FRIEND WILL BE BURIED

George and I began doing little devotionals and singing sessions for those at the nursing home where we now are the official Ministers. We met a lovely woman those many years ago that is still there. She died last night. She was such a special woman. The home, because of families request, usually does not tell anyone except family about the deaths from the home we simply go in and find them missing. Sarah is different. Sarah was somewhere in her 60’s and such a sweet person. Very intelligent,... Sign in to see full entry.

IS IT PARISIAN OR IS IT SEXY

I am sure some of you will be able to answer this for me. You see we sort of went wild with gardening this year. I bought two little watermelon plants, cute little creatures would not get in anybody's way. I put them next my sweet potatoes both of them are runners which I had forgotten. In a particular part of the garden I had some oddities I guess, lemon grass, herbs like sage, Mexican Tarragon, Basil and dill. I thought it would be safe to plant my watermelons between these and the sweet... Sign in to see full entry.

MAKES ME LOOK BACK A BIT

Since Samuel was here all week I have a lot of 'look back' moments. Now he sits for hours playing with his expensive phone or playing games on the computer when we can't get him involved in anything. It was so different when he was a little tiger he was right with us everywhere we went. I remember this little peanut sandwich episode when he was two or three. I wrote this when it was fresh, hope I did not post it if I did forgive me. “Gangan, I am hungry.” These are words we like to hear from... Sign in to see full entry.

SAMUEL IS VISITING WE ARE LOVING IT.

It is about school time here in Alabama. I love this time due to an almost ‘have too’ mode. Grand children get to or are made to visit the grandparents. My Samuel is here to visit us and it is so absolutely wonderful. This was not my best day energy wise. I spent a lot of time napping. Well Papa and Samuel gathered in all the garden vegetables did all the things that needed doing but the laundry. They did most of the laundry, except for loading the washing machine, I always do that. They filled... Sign in to see full entry.

Hello out there

Things are a bit strange here with the weather now. I love it we are from all sorts of directions in the world so weather is vastly different from one place to another other. I was thinking only a little while ago about how easily we forget those things that came before a present date in our lives. My mother told me of a time around 1915 when they were getting telephone for the first time. They had the phones and were all wired up but on this particular day it was to be turned on at a little... TODAY LOOKS SO GOOD

I want to thank all of you who are so encouraging. T hat is all that is needed some days to put your foot into another day. I saw adnohr had three beautiful little boys lined up on her sofa. Taps wrote of a lovely little girl with that aging disease who was spending her time making life a joy for others. On and on I see people going about their lives despite the bumps in the road or hardships. There are so many things that pile up until sometimes you feel the load on your back is too heavy. I... SOMETIMES THE ENEMY IS THE MOST FAMILIAR ONE

After talking with my doctor early Monday I found it was not the new miracle cure, loll but the one I had been taking for four years but not taking it the right way. Last week when I was at the doctor's office I felt like an honor winning fool. When she gave me the new pain medicine I asked her if she needed me to stop the one she had given me before. She said no, it has something in it which is good for you. She used other words but I have never listened to medical words. All I remembered was... Sign in to see full entry.

HI ALL YOU NICE PEOPLE

There are some on here who are not nice but they don't read or comment to me. Looks like the new miracle drug has not done an overnight cure. I guess it takes some time getting accustomed to it. I did not get to go to the Nursing Home today and that is a great blessing for me, so I missed it. No I am not giving up. I will hang in there. I will write short posts this week until I feel better. Have a blessed day or evening. Love all of you. Sign in to see full entry.

A NEW HOPE FOR ME-PRAY IT WORKS THE WAY IT SHOULD

As I said the other day I have had fibromyalgia for 17 years. Little is known about it except how it works and those other diseases that go with it. One of the reasons is that the way it behaved for so long many people did not believe it was real. Too many people who reside in the believable area of life have it and we all have the same things to say. It is very difficult because you do not know when it will strike with the crazy and very painful behavior. It also has arthritis that goes with it... Sign in to see full entry.

THAT IS JUST WHAT I NEEDED TODAY

I am sure many of you have noticed just as have I that there are days when someone will write a post that just fit what you needed or wanted to read that day. I have had that happen here many times in the many years I have been here. Today it was Ms Judy. She gave the most real explanation of fybromyalgia that I have seen anywhere. It almost made me feel sane. I have been in treatment for this disease for 17 years. I have seen and felt the looks and words when people think there is nothing wrong... Sign in to see full entry.

TOMORROW IS THE DAY

Of course we go each and every Sunday to the Nursing Home. Last week in one of the services, Alzheimer group we had a bit of entertainment. The woman who tried to crawl out a window she could never have reached was up to her games again. One of the ladies sleeps on a bed sort of chair most of the time we are there. She never appears to know what is happening. They remember the hymns they sang as children these are Southern Gospel and not high church. So what we do with them is just go in hug... WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO SAY? YOU TELL ME!

Pedophiles Want Same Rights as Homosexuals July 03, 2013 Using the same tactics used by “gay” rights activists, pedophiles have begun to seek similar status arguing their desire for children is a sexual orientation no different than heterosexual or homosexuals. Critics of the homosexual lifestyle have long claimed that once it became acceptable to identify homosexuality as simply an “alternative lifestyle” or sexual orientation, logically nothing would be off limits. “Gay” advocates have taken... MOPING, MUSING, MEANDERING AND MULE-CASING

You know when I signed up for old age such as living until the rapture or 100 which came first. Maybe I thought that meant less work. This tomato jungle, bell, cyanine peppers, and all that good stuff that goes into spaghetti and other good things tomato soup and sauce is just too much. I can only get one of two phases done and I am out like a light. It is like writing or reading I can’t get a glimmer until the whole thought is flying around over the herb garden. Oh don’t get me wrong I love... Sign in to see full entry.

RED FACED LITTLE TOWN AWOKE TO A NATIONAL EMBARASSMENT

Early one morning this week a friend called to see if I knew what was going on at the post office. You see this is a small town with two one-way main streets with the old one-hundred year old houses. Some are businesses and some are homes, like as ours. The post office is down the street from us. Since I had not been post office watching I had no idea. Well my friend begins to fill me in on what she knew which was no more than the area around the post office was filled with men in white suits,... Sign in to see full entry.

Well today I made a pasta sauce from my tomatoes, peppers, onions and garlic in the garden. Of course it had ground lean round steak and it was topped off with hands full of good garden fresh basil. It was yummy. I wanted to make it in a meal size first before I canned it to see if it was good. We have a surprise tomato, at least to me. A yellow one. I have stayed away from them because I always thought of them as sweet, those I had eaten were. This one is called Lemon Boy. It is nicely acidic... Sign in to see full entry.

JUST BUSY

Forgive me for not reading and posting often. I am so busy with gardening, canning and doing my little ministries. I enjoyed Samuel while he was here. I don't understand today's youth. They need no one to keep company with. I just read about TAPS and her family hiking to that beautiful place that is on her blog with all four their boys. I can see the joy and the communication that went on. Today each would be on his own telephone playing games or even talking or messaging the one with him. Of... Sign in to see full entry.

IT WAS AND IS A GREAT FOURTH

We had a surprise call on July 3, saying our grandson wanted to visit with us for the boat parade and fireworks. Oh this is blessed news we are always happy when he wants to visit. He will be 14 later in the month and he wants to visit us! That is totally wonderful. He and Papa saw two fireworks presentations. It was great for both those boys. Samuel got a seriously deep cut a couple of weeks ago and his Mom said his dad would want to get him today to have the stitches out. Last night he ask if... Sign in to see full entry.
