It's amazing how incredible and well-received phones were when they first came out. And now, with the advent of cell phones, many, many people are getting rid of their land lines! Never thought "our phones" would become more or less obsolete in our lifetime . . .

There was an article in the paper Justi,  Hardly anyone who was asked knew anything about WW1 . Now this affected millions of people through the loss of their dear ones. Most small churches probably have plagues with names of the victims. My Grandmother was delivered a telegram by a boy on a bicycle. My point is all is forgotten very quickly over a few decades even in one's family. The survival of the Bible is rather unique.

I liked it the old way, no cell phones, no missed calls, no texting, and yes, a call missed was simply missed.

How true.  My Dad was always fascinated that he went from horse and buggy in a little town with no cars, to seeing man walk on the moon on TV as he did it.

when I tell my Grandchildren  of things my mother told me about when she was a little girl they look at me as though I am telling tall stories and they are more interested in all this modern techno stuff. we still have a landline cos we only need a phone for emergency.

I was thinking along the same lines as FSI - about how thw internet came to be during our lifetime. Fascinating!!! That would be an interesting bible study, Justi. Will you blog about it?

I imagine that my future children will be amazed that during most of my childhood, I did not know what an Internet was.
