A special moment!

Today we stopped at our favorite middle-eastern restaurant, and it happened that the owner was there for whatever reason. The server said something about some kind of crisis they'd had but didn't say what. Anyway, I had the chance to tell him how much we like the food, I especially like their baba ghanouj, and we're always bringing someone to try it or recommending it. Looking Up

So many clouds in the sky today! So many kinds, so many forecasts of changing weathers on the way! It started with a mighty shelf cloud stretching from north to south, filling the eastern sky! I dropped Charlie off for jugger practice--every Sunday, 10-noon--and drove up to the highest land in the area, short of driving up Pike's Peak, and even so there was no view that would even begin to fit in my camera's lens. Busy days!

Well, I laid out the whole weekend of busyness in several paragraphs and then hit the wrong key... Suffice it to say, my doctor would be pleased with how much walking I've been doing since Friday! Birthday shenanigans, final jugger league day of the year, random runnings-around, yesterday's teachers' rally... I'm glad for a quiet day until I go pick up Charlie around 3 after he spent an overnight at the workshop. Fall is glowing and blowing--Many leaves have yet to turn, but every wind carries... Birthday!

Here it is again, just like every year... This morning we drove up to Green Mountain Falls to see an art installation I've been hearing about all summer. I almost gave up...

Every month I put in my $20, pleased that half of that will turn into pennies on each of the accounts I read. Then I don't write enough to earn anywhere near that amount back. So I have not focused on that so much as watching my pennies creep up... A couple of days ago, Sept 29, I switched the payment method to collect what's in there now--things have been a little dry here of late as some old bills come due. Jane Goodall has left us

A light has gone out... Whenever I've heard anyone moaning about how awful human being are, it was Jane at the top of the list, David Attenborough right beside her, that I have held up to demonstrate just how remarkable we have the potential to be. Over the past several years, many renowned have died whom I didn't actually know, but who were meaningful in my life, and I have been saddened with each passing, but this is the first time I've cried. Marauders!

Yesterday was the final League Day for Colorado Jugger League, 5 teams competing in, for once, a local park! It was cool, a nice day and the only rain--a brief downpour--was while most of us were at lunch. The final match was the best kind: long play, unexpected twists and turns, and finally coming to a tie, 6 to 6. That triggers a last match, next point wins--And in a wild run, the Marauders took the win! The two teams were well-matched, and both teams come to the game with good attitudes. In... Nice!

It has been a really nice couple of days here, with sunny skies, temperatures in the 70s through the day. There's a freshness to the air with middling humidity. And I got my car back yesterday, all fixed and they detailed the interior besides! This Sunday is the next Big Day: the Colorado Jugger League Finals! And for some reason, it is happening not miles away but right here in town not 2 miles from the house where the local teams generally practice on Sunday mornings. Convenient, if anything... Middles and Beginnings

It's the middle of the week, the ending of summer, and the beginning of my week without the Forester as it sits in the shop awaiting bumper replacement. The overnight temps were in the 40s, second time this month, and the sun rises more towards its winter path across the sky: more southerly than its summer path. Some unusual bird songs this morning... I need to get the app on my phone that my daughter Marika has that identifies birds when you hold the phone up towards the sound. It's called... A quiet day

Alexa said clouds and thunderstorms today... Well, we have sunshine with fleecy clouds and no storms yet. Nice. It's cool and pleasant and I don't have to drive anywhere. Lots of driving this week... Long drive to the Denver airport to pick up Marika, and bring her here, then lots of driving hither and thither for the day and a half she was here before driving her up to meet her friend in Aurora...
