One... more... thing...

...and I'm sure I can still zip it shut...! I have packed for the trip home, and I tell you it is a monster, that big old suitcase, even after I packed the heaviest rocks in the briefcase to spread the weight a bit. G'day, Mate!

Back in my daughter's house after three days in Sydney, Australia! Cape Palliser

It's the south-most shoreline of New Zealand's North Island, and it's where we went today. About 2 hours from Wellington, over mountains (the Remutaka range) and past sheep in their pastures, and cows for some reason blocking the roads... (Yes, yes, there will be pictures...) Hold out for the D/SLR, Naut!

another swell day on the edge of the Tasman Sea

The wind got up again yesterday, and we drove out around the waterfront. I've got such a yarn for you!

Really, a wool string, a yarn. A few years ago, a couple of New Zealanders had a farm that was in decline. Saw stars last night...

Really--stars! The Milky Way is brilliant over my daughter's home, but often not visible because of cloud cover. New Zealand's Maori name means Island of the Long White Cloud, so named by a chief's wife on their approach from the sea in large outrigger canoes that had travelled miraculous distances...
